Actually hasn't anyone noticed that as our vaccination rates go up, the infection cases also went up? Infact, the current wave is even higher then the one just before the Heighten Alert measures in May where the overall vaccination rate is much lower. How come nobody do an analysis to understand why the correlation? Heighten Alert was implemented due to an increase in infection cases. By saying that there is a correlation is a false notion. The vaccination rate is dependant on vaccine supply. For trending, I will look at rolling 14 days cases. Daily cases has too much fluctuation. ↡ Advertisement

The 50% is of the whole, so of those that can be vaccinated, 12yrs+, it's closer to 57% but either way, we need this to be higher still if we look for 70-80% of all 12+. The issue will always be the 15-20% population that either either too young for a vaccine, or old enough but won't take one. The concern now is the 70% of 70yrs+.

Compare that with rest of SEA, TW, Japan, SK, Aus, NZ etc. It actually looks like we'll reach 75% of the population fully vaccinated end of august. 👍 1 & 2 jabs... Based on Statista, the population of ppl age 0 to 14 is about 0.6m. Removing this group, we are close to 5.1m ppl eligible for vaccination. As of 17 Jul, about 2.7m fully vaccinated. It could be slight higher than 50%.
