Happy with 3 points in the bag.

Come next week Christmas period most team would be feeling fatigue with the number of games played.

Anyway seem like a high chance there might be temporary suspension given so many games called off due to covid.

We have 3 cases as well; VVD, Jones and fahbinho all down with COVID.

Liverpool 3 - Newcastle 1.

The Magpies took a shock early lead through ex-Liverpool player Shelvey, after a poor clearance from Thiago.

We stormed back to level through Jota and then took the lead with Salah. TAA rounded up the night with a thunderbolt strike at the end to wrap up the win.

3 points, no clean sheet. We could have and indeed should have scored more (need to pad up our + goal difference after ManC closed the gap with their 7)

Considering that we were without both VvD and Fab, would gladly take the win (Ref could have stopped play just prior to our equalizer with a Newcastle player lying on the ground, TAA could have given away a penalty with that challenge and we could have conceded after a poor Thiago pass).

They and Jones are all absent tonight after returning suspected positive COVID tests. Isolating while awaiting PCR results. Rest of first-team squad tested negative. Liverpool did not apply for game to be postponed.

We set some records,

1) Liverpool are the first team in English football history to win 2,000 top-flight league games,

2) Scored in 32 consecutive games.

3) M Salah has now scored or assisted in 15 consecutive Premier League games, equalling the all-time record set by Jamie Vardy.

Important to keep pace with ManC after they blitzed Leeds for 7, plus our blue neighbors held Chelsea to a draw.

Next up, vs Spurs on Sun (that is provided they and perhaps us, have the players to play and also the league is not temporarily suspended).

YNWA.

Yep, good 3 points collected this morning. Was concerned on the absence of VVD and Fabinho not in the squad due to the virus though before kick off. While Konate did reasonably well deputizing VVD, Matip seems a tat uncomfortable. Thiago, given his heroics over the last few games was a bit tame this morning, probably feeling the absence of Fabinho. Robbo on the flank seems relatively quiet for his standards but he may be under the instructions of Klopp to do so given the fact that VVD is not playing and to keep an eye on Konate. Some brothers here commented that Mane is off-form, but two of the goals came with him contributing to the case. And while, TAA save the best for last with a sweetly taken superb strike.

While it's easy to point at Thiago's poor clearance that led to the sucker punch, Konate was rather slow to close down maxim. His performance did improve and had better focus thereafter.

Good to see Bobby back in action.

I always feel Mike Dean has something against pool. Not last night.

He did not stop play when 2  Newcastle players went down and Jota went on to score.

Just before TAA screamer, he ran across in front of TAA and block the keeper's view.

Thanks Mike. 😁
