Liverpool Football Club 2021/2022 - We go again.

Two points dropped and we need Man City to "slip" up big time in order to have a shot. Even if Man city loses a game, it will go down to goal difference.

As expected, Conte proved to be a more worthy rival to Klopp compared to Rangnick or Lampard.

After 15 May, we will have a clearer vision on the situation after FA Cup final. Man City would have played Newcastle, Wolves (12/5) and visit the Hammers (15/5).

The only match city likely to drop points will be hammers as hammers fighting to qualify for next season Europe.

We need city to draw one and lose one inorder to stand a chance. Our goal difference is only minimal. One goal as of last night. The very least two draws from city.

We need to win all our remaining matches. We can't afford another slip up.

Ya two draws will be more realistic. Though every game now is a final but we shld start to lean towards the FA Cup final now. The first XI facing Villa should be considered with FA Cup in mind. The players can say whatever they want but its hard to put in 100% if you have a FA Cup final waiting in a few days time.

Hammers will most likely qualify for UEFA conference league at 7th place while they will try to leapfrog currently 6th placed Man U for one of the two UEFA Europa league places. The Hammers are 6 points behind Man U with 2 games in hand. They need Man U to screw up.

Wolves are in a similar situation as LFC. They will be waiting at 8th place hoping for Hammers to slip up. Wolves will host Man City on 12/5 and hope to get a result else all the wait will come to nothing.

honestly, to be fully objective and not that to try to appear giving up easily, what are the odds that City will lose 1 and draw 1 in the remaining 3 games vs Wolves (A), West Ham (A) and Aston Villa (H). I really think the odds will be very slim.

Pool has done an incredible job and put in a strong run against all odds to be even in the title conversation at this stage.  The reality of what happened in the last game vs Spur has shown that quite a number of players are beginning to looked fatigued and out of steam. This is hardly unreasonable given the number of pressure games which the team has been playing week in week out. The fortunate thing is that Pool has been largely unscathed in the injury perspective.

While Klopp should continue to press the case for the title challenge and attempt to push it into the final fixture of the season, he would be wise not to over-stretch resources and may have to consider rotating the squad a bit more than normal. This will ensure all players will get a breather before the UCL final while retaining a good level of sharpness.  I am not advocating Klopp to throw in the towel for the remaining 3 EPL fixtures but he will do well to play abit more of the squad players to manage the workload.

See as I have said, RM is resting players to prepare for UCL Final against Liverpool.  [sly]

Yahoo news :  Atletico edge past weakened Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid won a La Liga derby against Real Madrid for the first time in six years on Sunday as a 1-0 victory left Diego Simeone's side on the cusp of securing Champions League qualification.

Yannick Carrasco's first-half penalty proved enough at the Wanda Metropolitano against a heavily weakened Real Madrid, who took the chance to rotate after their incredible Champions League comeback against Manchester City on Wednesday.

With Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Thibaut Courtois among those on the bench for the already-crowned champions, Atletico took advantage, even if they missed a string of chances that made the contest far more uncomfortable than it needed to be.

Atletico sit fourth, six points clear of Real Betis in fifth, with three games left to play. Their better head-to-head record over Betis means they will be guaranteed to finish in the top four if Betis fail to win away at Valencia on Tuesday.

I am already prepared that the league title goes to Man City.  Man City has a knack of screwing up in Europe but they have great experience in winning the league.  I cannot see how they would screw up in the last few EPL matches.

I just hope Pool put in the focus to win the 2 cup finals.

Klopp is a practical guy and he knows just winning Carabao Cup is not good enough. Am sure he will prioritise the two cup finals over the league by resting certain key players especially for FA Cup.

Having said that, we shld still try to win maximum points from the last three league games and score as many as possible. No one expected Steven Gerrard to slip but he did. So anything is possible. The league title is still Man City's to lose except that they can now afford to drop points.

Like I mentioned before, the Quadruple is more for the current team/players. We fans can wait 30yrs for a league title and we can wait a few years to try for the quadruple. We will come back stronger next year.

of all the trophies on the challenge, it is also a given that the EPL title remains the most coveted. given a choice, I will gladly swap the 3 titles (assumption) for the single EPL title.

The reality is that City now has 2 hands on the EPL title and about to lift it.  this EPL title is bread and butter for it and they know how to ride the pressures, since they have won it so many times in the past seasons.  hence, guess it is up to Klopp to decide how pragmatic he wants to play out the last 3 games. I believe the 2nd place for Pool is also confirmed as Chelsea in unable to catch Pool.

We welcome bids this summer. Its recommended that Newcastle come with a bid that Liverpool cant refuse. :D Salah will be a big statement of intent! Neco Williams is not bad and Minamino can sell shirts.

Come next Jan, the big boys will come circle Salah like vultures.

Police called in as Spurs hopes dashed after food poisoning

On this day 16 years and 2 days ago, Tottenham saw their Champions League qualification hopes wrecked by an outbreak of food poisoning before their match against West Ham.
