A small details gone unnoticed. Gotten it from some website. Pundits review.

-------------------------------

Goalkeepers often try to gain an advantage during penalty shoot-outs by using various tactics.

From eccentric goal-line antics to trash-talking, like we saw from Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez during the 2021 Copa America, the sight of ‘keepers trying to psyche out their opponents isn’t uncommon.

Back in February, the aforementioned Mendy was seen attempting to get into the heads of Egypt’s penalty takers during the Africa Cup of Nations final while playing for Senegal.

Senegal eventually lifted the trophy but Mendy’s antics hadn’t gone unnoticed by Alisson and Liverpool’s coaching staff.

What did Alisson do during FA Cup final penalty shoot-out?

So every time Alisson faced a penalty, his first action was to grab the ball, rather than take his position on the byline.

Then, when each of Liverpool’s players made the dreaded walk to the penalty spot, they were greeted by Alisson rather than Mendy.

A small thing in the grand scheme of things, perhaps, but it’s the little details that win clubs trophies.

Talking about Alisson, not sure if you all realised that he actually saved Mount's penalty TWICE.

Look at this video again at 1:43 seconds mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BDSlQ89gxk

Luckily Allison did not run away and celebrate (like some  other keepers) after saving the ball the first time.  Because after his save, the ball seems to bounce and rolling back into the goal. He stood there and caught the ball again.

If the ball roll back into the goal despite the first save, that goal would have been counted.

Yes. I read it on some website it was a double save. 😀 YouTube should has the video.

I reckon we must be getting onto pep ass. I noticed recent weeks he has been mentioning us so often in his many interviews.

The lastest urging soton to beat us 4, 5 goals.

Talking to the media on the again of the full-time whistle on the London Stadium this night, Metropolis’s boss despatched a tongue-in-cheek message to the Saints, within the type of a request to ‘beat Liverpool 4-0’.

I also noticed that when liverpool players turn to take the penalty, Alisson is the one who 'check' the ball and pass to the player

If PL Champions slips, then Pep has no trophy to show. I doubt going empty handed in a season goes down well with the board.

So, Pep needs the PL title more than Liverpool. For that, ManC is under more pressure then Liverpool and it is starting to show.

in theory, Pool's squad should be able to cope with these absentees...  more concerned whether together with Fab, these 2 will be ready for the UCL final.

my team for the visit to saints - Alisson, Tsimikas, Matip, Konate, Gomez, Milner, Jones, Ox, Jota, Origi, Taki.

To protect most players who played > 90min during the FA cup final.

Klopp You two listen up! Drawing is always easier than winning.

Stevie : how to set up defensively?  Play 5 at the back?

Philippe : I will score from set piece.

Mani : wait, that isnt right. That isn't ethical.

A much changed side travelled to St. Mary’s and came from behind to secure a vital 1 - 2 win, with goals from Minamino and Matip.

So it’s onto the final game of the season! Where we are one point behind ManC and with an inferior GD.

We need to win and hope that Villa draw or beat them.

An observation, Ox didn’t get onto the field despite all the changes, looks like his tenure at the club is over.

Looking forward to a nail biting finished.

YNWA.

Villa can nip a goal for sure.  Is how villa defence contain city attack. Getting a draw not impossible given how villa pushes us at anfield recently. Hope fatigue won't be an issue with villa. They play tomorrow. City got one whole week to prepare.
