Silent workers around us who do more quietly like anonymous donors, blood donors, volunteers.. He's a real motivation.

Ash2017 Twincharged July 8, 2021 Share July 8, 2021 It is true that in a society there is a spectrum of people with different personalities and hold different moral fabrics. Why is this so prevalent in Singapore? Every year we have increasing number of NGOs (excluding churches / temples / Mosques) all trying to elevate the difficulties or suffering of Singaporeans from most basic needs such as food, shelter. Most are deserving of help. But there are some who despite being helped will still remain in the same situation eg money given instead of purchasing basic necessities would use for gambling / cigarettes / electronic games / etc. Others would sell their donated rice cooker / bed / etc for cash. Singapore isn't poor by any standard but we do have a very large portion of people still struggling to have 3 square meals on their table. We need to ask why are all these happening and why is it on an increase? Fair to say we can't eliminate them completely but we do have an increased in numbers. Alot of times we like and quickly blame the government solely for all our social woes. However, we quickly forget too that it takes two hands to clap. As a society, before it is too late, need to re-visit, collectively, plot our future and determine what is our collective priorities? To start the ball rolling: Do we still want to pursue to be No.1 at all cost? Do we need prudence in how our country spend her money - eg $100 billion was used for the Covid in less than a year and more is needed? Why build places of interests when the average Singaporean family cannot afford to visit? etc. Go figure out what each of us can bring to table to contribute to make Singapore a great place for ourselves and children. Radx is banned from contributing, he will bring furnace to the table.
