if i there I will break glass at end of train to get out Liao

if the flood water rises, I will be stuck in the train and mati

I've never seen those small break glass hammers in our MRT trains. Or maybe I did not pay sufficient attention. I think our buses have those small pointed hammers.

There was 1 on the train together with the warning on the misuse of it.

I didn't see it recently.

Alot of our mrt is underground. So its quite scary

Most of our MRT has sufficient water barriers barring freak weather.

I wonder why the weather forecast did not issue a warning.  That will stop any MRT service.

If i remember correctly the zhengzhou case water broke in because one of the mrt station exit collapsed resulting huge flash flood and thats why many cant escape

looks like the problem is too much build up and not enough time for the ground to soak up the water.

Some people are just FOS.

What is a devastating flood in China's history? Let's go back 90 years ago.

In the grand scheme of things, flooding in china is greatly reduced over the last 30-40 years. That's just drowned people. The numbers of people who died subsqeuently is sometimes considered to be the 2-3 + million range.

Quote

The 1931 China floods, or the 1931 Yangtze–Huai River floods, were a series of floods that occurred from June to August 1931 in China, hitting major cities such as Wuhan, Nanjing and beyond, which eventually culminated into a dike breach along Lake Gaoyou on 25 August 1931.

Fatality estimates vary widely. A field survey by the University of Nanking led by John Lossing Buck immediately after the flood found "150,000 people had drowned, and that this number represented less than a quarter of all fatalities during the first 100 days of the flood."[2] The official report found 140,000 drowned[3] and claims that "2 million people died during the flood, having drowned or died from lack of food"

In some videos, it was much higher outside (and fast flowing). Break grass immediately all drown!

Chinese met dept captured the rain pattern in the last few days hours of downpour.

That "1000 year" is based on the unusual (extreme?) heavy precipitation and the mountainous region of Henan magnify the flooding problem, esp in the urban areas. The water subsided as quickly as it came.

24 Hours Rain Pattern around Zhengzhou city of 10 million (Capital of Henan province)

Looks like turning on a huge tap for water to flow....

Or using a huge funnel and pour the water.

Chinese has been records of floods, burst banks, extent of geographic damage and span of flood etc for last 2 millennium,

They probably just measure rainfall in mm in the last century.
