Daimler also installed software on some of its diesel vehicles to cheat emissions tests and has paid billions of dollars in fines. BMW was careful to point out Thursday that, unlike the other companies it was caught colluding with, it had not cheated emissions testing."

Why this happens again after the Audi and Volkswagen group emission cheating scandal a few years back.

I think they are too lazy or incompetent to make cleaner cars...://

Of course it's peanuts. These regulatory fines are not calibrated to kill large companies, but to make them milk cows so the fatcat politicians can get rich off them for a long, long time all while hypocritically virtue-signalling about "the environment". 

If people want to save the planet, go electric! At least until the next "revelation" hits about how dirty the production and destruction of these batteries really is and how these companies "colluded" to "hush it up". All the while ignoring that this fact is already established, just so they can sue a whole slew of companies again, making new milk cows. 

It's a broken record, on infinite repeat. Thunberg-acolytes, thy creed is hypocrisy.

Let's get this straight. It's not about saving the Earth. It never was. It's about saving our own pathetic, worthless skins. The Earth is not in danger, we are. Humanity is much, much easier to kill than the Earth, and we will not be missed.

Through the course of my work, i have come to realise this is the real, actual, (however cynical it might seem) view of the world.

And viewed through this lens, you will be able to get a relatively accurate insight on key decision makers' motivations/reasons, and thus the likely end result.
