ManU 1 - Watford 4 (EPL - Away)

With Sancho in his rightful right-wing position and Ronaldo flanked by Rashford, it was Matic and McTominay in mid with Bruno as the pivot. A mistake by Bruno and the subsequent foul by McTominay gave Watford a penalty in the 10th minute which DDG saved twice after it was re-taken, of which both were poorly taken. Watford drew first-blood in the 28th minute after numerous forays and it was 2-0 in the 43rd minute when our sloppy defence were again caught napping. A poor showing and pathetic first-half, with Watford dominating play with possession and penetration.

Subs at the start of the second half saw Martial and VDB for Rashford and Matic and it was only 5 minutes for VDB to show Ole his prowess, to half the deficit. A second yellow for Maguire in the 70th minute left us a man short that resulted in Watford scoring twice in the dying minutes of the game. Until a suitable replacement is found soon, Ole remains a dead man walking!

Tuesday UCL match away from home will be the test water for Michael Carrick manager abilities ..... :wut:

Will CR7 & Bruno bail him out or did another (changing room protest) like what they did to Ole :ninja:

ManU 2 (Ronaldo / Sancho) - Villareal 0 (CL - Away)

It was Carrick's first game in-charge with Ronaldo as striker backed by Martial, VDB and Sancho just behind, following Ole's system of McFred in midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The back-four comprised Telles for the injured Luke Shaw with Maguire, Lindelof and Wan Bissaka, so not much in terms of the old system with both teams evenly matched and nil-score at half-time.

The second half saw a better performance with more confidence and press when Rashford and Bruno came on for VDB and the ineffective Martial in the 65th minute. It paid off when Fred robbed the ball off their defender for Ronaldo to lob the ball over their goalie in the 78th minute, with Sancho scoring his first goal since his transfer in the 89th minute that propelled us to the top of Group F with 10 points. The upcoming weekend match with high-flying Chelsea would be interesting to see if the sacking of Ole has invigorated the team with fans looking forward to better days ahead.

This news to be officially announced by the ManU Board by tomorrow!

Ralf Rangnick has reached an agreement with Manchester United to become their interim manager.

The 63-year-old, who is seen as the ‘godfather’ of modern coaching in Germany, is leaving his job as head of sports and development at Lokomotiv Moscow to take up the role.

The Athletic understands the agreement is subject to Rangnick’s current club, Lokomotiv, agreeing to release him from his contract, although Manchester United do not anticipate this to be a problem.

Rangnick has agreed a six-month deal until the end of May. He will have a further two years in a consultancy role.

Work permit reasons mean he will not be in charge in time for the weekend’s game at Chelsea.

ManU 1 (Sancho) - Chelsea 1 (Jorginho) EPL - Away

With Ronaldo and Greenwood on the bench, it was a 4-3-1-2 system, having Rashford and Sancho in front, backed by Bruno with McFred and Matic in the middle. We were entrenched in our half, toothless in attack and Bruno still off-form with Chelsea's 70% possession and nil score, thanks to De Gea's fine saves.

Against the run of play, Sancho scored his 2nd goal for us when he robbed the ball of Jorginho from Bruno's punt but was surprisingly replaced by Ronaldo. A disputable penalty was awarded to Chelsea after AWB's tackle and Jorginho made amends but not much improvements in attack when the ineffective Rashford was subbed by Lingaard in the 76th minute followed by Bruno for VDB. We were extremely lucky to get a draw for this game. Can't wait for Rangnick to inject new life / system of play into our players with simple passing skills, moving into position to receive the back-pass and ball possession, among other flaws.

I thought it was a clear penalty for Chelsea cos WB kicked the heel (back of Silva’s ankle) so no dispute to me.

As for United being lucky, this is disputable cos whilst Chelsea had a clear chance in injury time to win it when Rudiger blasted the ball over from a few yards, United too had a golden opportunity when Mendy kicked straight to Fred who shot feebly so draw I think about right but if u count possession and no. of chances then I guess Chelsea shld hv won but possession n chances don’t win u matches, goals are the one that determines this.

It was disputable as Thiago put his leg out and was behind AWB when he cleared the ball and could count as borderline unintentional. As for Fred, a good whack instead of chipping the ball might've been better and lucky to win as De Gea made some good saves.

although i might sound bias as i chelsea fan.

awb clear the ball. but he wack thiago foot instead.

nowaday the rules protect attacker alot. even if u clear the ball. but if u bring down player in the process, its still consider a foul. not to mention this case awb get the foot first before he even touch the ball.

u repeat and see the replay

Yes, I saw the replay many times over before your posting and AWB got Thiago's leg as it was in the way of the ball. The pundits were also in two minds over the penalty.

ManU 1 (Fred) - Cry 0 (EPL - Home)

With Rangnick's first game in-charge, it was Rashford and Ronaldo as frontmen in his preferred 4-2-2-2- formation and the same players in the last game. The high-line was apparent as could be seen in the more corners being awarded and resulted in Crystal Palace's players making misplaced passes in view of the high-pressing, and were lucky keep the score-line at 0-0 till halftime.

Subs in the 2nd half were Greenwood for Sancho and Elanga for Rashford in the 62nd and 76th minute respectively and 2 minutes later, Fred scored from a pass from Greenwood inside the box. Although VDB replaced Bruno in the 85th minute to provide more impetus in attack, a new era beckons for Ralfie and ManU, as we sail into 6th position. GGMU!

Should have been 3-1, as CP also had a good chance when the ball sailed past our goalmouth.

Also liked Bruno's comment on Fred's 'one shot per year" 🙂
