Hi,

I have to change the floor mat at the driver side quite often due to the breakage where my right heel keep resting all the time while stepping on the accelerator n brakes .
the rubber under the mat and even the second layer mat under the first one also got one “hole”.

anyone facing the same problem and any solution ?

My set of floor mats already 13 years, still swee swee!

You must have been using your heel to dig in! Use the front of the sole instead.

The  wear of 280000km is on the tyres lah,   not the  mat. Not I say one🤣🤣🤣

My previous car mat also lasted for 10 years of 240k km. Recently just bought the 3d mat, let's see how long it will last

Right heel resting on the floor mat while stepping on the accelerator is alright. But many of us did the wrong thing by just shifting our toes to step on brakes while still resting the heel.

The correct way to brake is to lift up your lazy right foot and step on the brakes without having your heel to touch the floor mat. Take a min to recall, this should be the way we are taught in driving school. It would reduce the wear and tear as the shifting of toes while resting the heel action (left and right rubbing of the floor mat) is lesser.

Nonetheless, can alway get a good set of floor mat. Those customised one usually comes with stronger heel plate.

Cheers.

What is the benefit of braking this way

besides not "wearing out" your floor mats?

When I am pressing the brake as the car is front is becoming bigger and bigger

wear and tear of the floor mat is the least of my worries.

:D

IMHO For hard braking i think that's the way.. most time we just reduce speed gradually.. but of cos depends on the way you drive lah..
