Quiet Tyres

@currypuff I genuinely wondered about that too. Several of the reviews by local Tourador buyers claim they are quiet. But are they objectively so? Have yet to find more solid info.

Whatever the case, the sticker is a big no-no for me though.

try and tested myself

Primacy 4 lose out in quietness if compare to turanza t005a. by quite abit i would say .

dry grip and performance during rain, i would say about the same.

but t005a lose out alot in the lasting factor. it botak quite fast.

That's Bridgestone characteristic for their recent line-up i feel. Previous I was on S007A, performance wise, I have really no complaints. But it just botak too fast.

I not worried for fast botak.

More worry how come never botak. Rubber hardened and noisy like hell...

For a typical FWD car the rears hardly get worn. So if the fronts can last 20k km without rotating then 40k for the set is easily doerable.

my 9.5 years old car went through the following sets

1. Continental CSC5 (came with the car)

2. Bridgestone GR100

3. Michelins PS4

4. Bridgestone T005A

5. Bridgestone S007A (current set)

comfort/quiet order (best to worst)

Bridgestone T005A - Bridgestone GR100 - Continental CSC5 - Michelins PS4 - Bridgestone S007A

performance order (best to worst)

Bridgestone S007A - Bridgestone GR100 - Bridgestone T005A - Continental CSC5 - Michelins PS4

Funnily you rank csc5 and ps4 last. All the review sites in the world rank them up at the top

Drove the Primacy 4 for 35k km Don't think it is  quiet. Grip wise still as good.

Previously shortlisted Primacy 4 and T005. But got the P4 as T005 was out of stock.

@Mkl22  from my experience

both are good in the first 10,000km

after that they are hard like lorry tires

I suspect they are like some cheap soap

they coat the cheap core with good soap on the outer layer

another possibility is I bought the fake ones 😁

Quiet tyres are generally genuinely quiet until a crash that make the sudden cease of driving very loud...especially those tourrible ones in the wet 😁

i'm not sure if what u mean is after an e-brake the tyres suddenly become noisy? is that what u mean?

i had a set of very quiet bridgestone ep150 from the factory for close to 5k km. i recall i had to do a very sudden e-brake once, then suddenly it lost its silence.

is that what u mean?

Quiet means less grip.

Less grip in rainy weather means more likely to skid.

If you buy really quiet tyres please let us know which model

I also want to buy for my MIL.

Long life, fuel economy, grip or price not important at all.

:D

But is your MIL driving ?

Maybe he means when he e-braked the tyres making skidding sound because of lost grip....🙄
