That is because most unagi in Singapore are sub-par.

You have not tasted unagi until you tasted this:

http://www.uya.sg/

I think closest to unagi restaurant in Japan already.

Heard so many people say the unagi from this restaurant is super good, but so far still havent go try yet? Lol.

My wife mostly buy frozen steamboat pork from Donki. For me, I only buy the soy sauce from Donki, not for sushi dipping but for my chilli padi.

Or Man Man at Tanjong Pagar. Tried both before. Taste close to each other. But at Man Man TP, you get to see them prepping your eel if your stomach does not churn.

Man Man at tanjong pagar another place i heard their unagi is very nice. Wanted to go eat but due to covid measures keep changing until now still havent go eat yet. Lol.

I think Man Man has another branch near Bugis. I've only tried the one at Tanjong Pagar when it was relatively new.

Good unagi is too expensive to eat often in Singapore.

this one no need go donki to buy. Quite common in better supermarkets.
I used to have this also.

I don't go donki.

But my mum has switched to going there to buy frozen snow crab leg for CNY steamboat dinner (she used to go Scott's Isetan basement Supermarket for many years).

My side, Square2 mall, Donki at basement have, Fairprice at top level dont have. Both are in the same mall. So pretty convenient for me.

I can't remember already. It's been a few years. But I think the prices should be pretty similar.
