Oh no

Better go KTV while you can.

Its good to be prepared and plan in advance.

:D

Hong Kong already announced yesterday, I think, they detected one such case as an arrival.

If it's in/at HK now, with all their restrictions, for sure it is already here and roaming inside!

We are all just one breath away from our maker.  One breath stopped and there we go. Sometimes, doesn't even need major illness or long term illness for that to happen

When I think this way, I will want to spend more time building good relationship with others based on honesty, kindness and trustworthiness.  When meet the maker, don't think he is interested in how many houses/cars with have, but rather how many people we have been kind to.

When you meet your maker leave all your houses/cars to me and I will put in a good word to him and tell him how kind you are.

Two Singapore Covid-19 cases infected with new sub-variant of Omicron BA.2

SINGAPORE - Two local Covid-19 cases have been confirmed to be infected with a new Omicron sub-variant called BA.2.12.1 - a descendant of the BA.2 version of Omicron, which drove Singapore's Omicron wave.

The new version was detected through active monitoring of the Covid-19 situation and genetic sequencing, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on its website on Thursday night (April 28), alongside its daily update on the local Covid-19 situation.

MOH added that the two individuals self-isolated after testing positive for Covid-19.

The BA.2.12.1 is currently not on the World Health Organisation's list of variants of concern or interest, or variants under monitoring.

Since March 15, more than 98 per cent of local Covid-19 cases have been infected with the BA.2 sub-variant, MOH has said previously.

Preliminary studies show that BA.2 is more transmissible compared with the original Omicron sub-variant known as BA.1. However, all the Omicron sub-variants are highly contagious, but less deadly compared with Delta or earlier variants.

The New York Times (NYT) reported two weeks ago that BA.2.12.1 and another sub-variant accounted for more than 70 per cent of new cases in central New York state last month.

The two sub-variants - BA.2.12 and BA.2.12.1 - have a growth advantage of about 25 per cent over BA.2.

But the new versions do not appear to cause more severe disease than previous Omicron variants, reported NYT.

As at mid-April, the BA.2.12.1 has been detected in more than 40 countries.

How come we are opening up but Shanghai decides to lockdown?

Is there anything about the virus that China knows but we don't know?

The world has open up. Not just us.

China has not abandon Zero case.

On the other hand, we have move towards living with COVID19 policy since June 2021.

Meanwhile, Mr Andy Neo, who became a food delivery rider with Grab at the onset of the pandemic, said he has seen a drop in earnings since restrictions were eased last month.
This is likely due to more people dining out in larger groups and fewer meals amid the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, according to three other riders whom CNA spoke to separately.
Mr Neo said he used to be able to get 25 orders a day but that target has been out of reach lately, even if he spent longer hours on the job. “Just last week, I got only 7 orders after 7 hours,” he said in Mandarin.
The 50-year-old used to work in a car workshop, specialising in spray painting. The workshop has closed down due to the pandemic and he has no plans to return to his previous job, noting that he is getting on in age and no longer wants to withstand the health risks that come with working with spray paint.
But given his lack of a proper education, Mr Neo said it is “impossible” for him to take on other types of jobs. Staying on as a food delivery rider is his best bet, even as tougher days lie ahead.
“Some people say they can earn S$8,000 as a food delivery rider; I don’t know how they do it. It’s definitely not so easy.”

Hate to say this again but….

Pay too low! 🤣

Obviously restaurant owners will not increase the wage of their workers without govt intervention of minimum wage.

$10 per hour for part time and full time is just slightly better... just too low.
