Just waiting for someone to hack the app and start all your engines and just keep going straight.

Tesla is still not KIT. Not yet anyway. Still need to add some missiles to it.

I think the keyless entry and start/stop is more than enough.

App on mobile is

  • prone to hacking
  • mobile batt no juice
  • mobile lost/stolen/misplaced/spoilt
  • le che - do you have to unlock phone and activate app to use the car?

One thing good is that if your car got stolen in Malaysia or elsewhere, your mobile app is still able to track the location of the car.

Mobile app is usually able to remotely connect to/communicate with the car via in-build 4G/GPS.

With mobile app, the car can be switched off and the door remotely locked.

TOYOTA is having sales promotion.

Reliable and fuel sipping...

Never lock you out of the car due software problem.

I won't surprised one day Hackers will put a virus in all the E cars and ask everyone to pay a lump sum to use their car again. 😁

By then, you either drive 1 or BMW

Tesla drivers say they have been locked out of their cars after an outage struck the carmaker's app.

Dozens of owners posted on social media about seeing an error message on the mobile app that was preventing them from connecting to their vehicles.

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk personally responded to one complaint from a driver in South Korea, saying on Twitter: "Checking."

Mr Musk later said the app was coming back online.

The Tesla app is used as a key by drivers to unlock and start their cars.

Owners posted a multitude of complaints online about not being able to use their vehicles.

"I'm stuck an hour away from home because I normally use my phone to start [my] car," one owner tweeted.

this is what happens when we over-rely on tech for simple things.

next time, we wont even have to eat or drink.

Confirm, chop and stamp. Agreed.

Some things just need to be kept simple.

Tesla cars are harder to steal. The phone app can track where the car is anywhere in the world and Tesla can remotely disable a stolen car. Unless the thief use only their own charger forever, basically all supercharger can identify the car. Not as easy to steal as one might think unless they are taking it for the lousy car parts.

I encounter this failure at the previous condo. All card access reader fail. Lift is operating in limbo mode because it is not possible to scan card to enable selection of level going up. Worst, door access to stairs are disabled as well. Slowly the lift lobby starts getting crowded. My wife and I were rushing home with our baby to feed her.

It was frustrating until my smart wife decided to call neighbour to enable the lift for us to enable the lift. Some resident got disgruntled further when they went into the lift only to realise they couldn't select their level.

Check with a few friends and they had similar experience with their condo as well. About time the management to come up with a plan to mitigate such situation. Surely the door/lift access need redundancy.

Extremely dangerous.  Imagine if you need ambulance assistance.....

With Tesla, you can lock the thief inside the car.
