Any recommendation for a good value home painting service ? Do I buy the paint colour of my choice myself, or I tell the painter and he will go buy ? Will the painters move and cover the furniture ? Appreciate any sharing, thanks and have a nice weekend.

i think just learn about what u want.

Vinilex vs Matex for ceiling etc.
Oil sealers for toilet vs water based sealers for normal toilets. ? antimold paint for toilet. separate days for painting
Nippon easywash etc.

Sometimes u specify, u have to trust the painter to do it properly.

@Lala81 thanks for the pointers. The price difference between established big brand company and those carousel painters is quite big, like almost double the price. So am considering which to choose. Sometimes I think painting is just painting, besides the quality of the paint.

problem with carousel reviews is that paint job issues will surface few months down the road.
U know angmohs will come back to the website to feedback months or even years down the road. That's the power of amazon.

Unfortunately asians just don't give very helpful reviews beyond the initial impression. I'm also guilty.

But a lot of these problems have to do with dampness, not using sealers etc, so if your home is not those problematic ones, should be ok.

Me too. Even smoothen out the wall with plaster first. Indoor quite easy and not much can go wrong.

Must diligently mask the edges and cover the floor.

Matex good and cheap !! haha. Last time got one uncle taught me for ultimate cheapo. Go buy food colouring + Matex = Colour paint !! And use oil-based for kitchen. Easy to wipe.

Err matex is functional. I've never been impressed by places painted with matex. It's just matt and dull usually.
Unless its pure white paint then doesn't make much of a difference.

But someone skilled at improving plastering of the walls can make a big difference i guess.

I am thinking of light pastel pink for a romantic look.

hmmm my advice is get something that is lighter than what u want. Or don't go overboard.
Cos one small color sample in the brochure VS a whole room painted that tone is quite different lol.

i just completed my house with Nippon Paint

very sexpensive but very sexperienced and professional

2 day job for a 1500sqft unit

the workers will lay protection all over and cover everything

they even take down the curtain rails and paint the surfaces originally covered by the rails

abit mafun and messy for 2 days but well worth the price
