Is there a time frame where they must announced?

The driver already arrested? Is there any obligation or need to announce the name for now?

i no lawyer, but think only when charged in court then will be public record; anytime before that is still under police investigation...

human rights...human rights...everyone got rights nowadays, men or animal

I mean why is there a need to announce the name before the investigations are completed.

The main thing we need to know is arrest has been made.

In due time when the person is charged in court and sentenced the name will be announced.

There's no obligation and no need to announce now and jeopardize any investigations just to satisfy our kaypohness

I agree with you. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in court.

Imagine the name is announced and all the backlash the guy and his families is going to receive from the public.

Then subsequently the guy was proven innocent...

I not saying just in particular to this case. I'm talking about all cases in general.

We were not there we did not see the whole picture. Let the police conduct their investigation and the name will be out in due course.

Rest assured the name will be revealed when he's charged in court...let the authorities complete their investigations...they will dig deep deep...just look at today news on the lecturer who makes racist remarks...he's only charged today when the incident happened last June. It's a clear cut case as there's video evidence and he admitted and apologize too. But it still take almost a year for him to be charged and the police even went to dig what he said in the past and possession of obscene videos (what's the link to the religious case?)

Speeding driver lost control of Mercedes before crashing into Gojek driver's car, killing him

Jeremiah Ng En You, 35, pleaded guilty on Tuesday (May 30) to his role in the fatal accident.

He admitted guilty to one charge of dangerous driving causing death and one charge of drink driving. Another three charges will be considered in sentencing.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/mercedes-driver-plead-guilty-tampines-fatal-gojek-crash-3524951

iirc, another recent DUI + causing fatality driver was sentenced 18 months jail + 10 year ban. that should be the minimum,

Man who consumed alcohol before driving brother’s car admits causing fatal accident

Between 7pm and 10pm on Dec 23, 2021, Ng had dinner with his brother and two friends in his office in Tampines Street 93 where he downed four cans of beer.

About an hour later, the brothers left the office and Ng went behind the wheel while his brother, Mr Joshua Ng En Yi, also 35, sat in the front passenger seat.

Ng was speeding as he drove along Tampines Avenue 1 at around 11.10pm. The vehicle was initially travelling between 157kmh and 169kmh even though the speed limit there was 60kmh.

Maybe 4 of the big 500ml cans, of the really strong 8% stuff. Or how many he declare he drink already get discounted.

But the absolute worst is that all the bodily harm and material losses suffered by the victims stated in the press report are likely to get “repudiated” by Jeremiah’s insurance company and they’re going to have to throw good money after bad, hiring lawyers to get compensated for his rash act.
