Good to know PML has woke up their idea. C&C still hasn't, the last time I've looked at their specs.

C&C is crap. Take a lot of money but last to react to new changes

Feels the 2023 version is the same copy of 2022, just the MY2X changed.

MY2023 does not have wireless charger, maybe Volvo just can't fix MY2022 wireless charger problem so they remove it...

@s2s to be honest, the wireless charger in MY22 is useless.

I only manage to use once, then don't even bother! since it charged very slow and make the phone very HOT.

Based on my short conversation with 2 SE during the recent motor show at Expo, the incoming MY23 XC60 will have the following changes:

  • No ventilated front seat (B5)
  • No panoramic roof (B5)
  • No virtual paddle tailgate (B5)
  • No R-Design aka 'Plus' Dark Theme (B5)
  • No built-in GPS system
  • No wireless charging pad
  • No built in SIM card, meaning data will be from user mobile phone
  • Come with 360 view

All in the name to cut omv and continue to sell at the same price. Less coe now, so each car must earn much more.

By sharing with me all the 'No' for MY23 model, the SEs are trying to promote the current stock (end 2021) at exorbitant profit margin.

I like the ventilated seats (which come with Nappa leather and better cushion for the rear), panoramic roof and the built-in SIM card (good for OTA updates and Map), but the >$50K profit margin (after some hard bargain) stop the itch more effective than this,

Without any doubt, with all the 'No' for incoming model, the OMV will be lower (probably ~$33K +/- for B5 variant), but selling price will likely remains the same (at most more freebies such as service credits or accessories vouchers).

No more built-in GPS/SIM?, I don't quite get this, will AAOS still work without SIM? It is a bit funny that you need to connect to Apple CarPlay first in order to get Google AAOS working... Without SIM, Volvo Car App becomes useless too.

Edit:

The MY2023 owner manual has mentioned built-in SIM, I doubt they will be removed, otherwise AAOS is useless.

I wonder what is going to be the pull factor against competitors I.e. GLC and X3 for this MY23 models. They way I see the main advantage for the current MY22 is that you are getting more feature thus getting most of your money worth when comparing base model between competitors.

With so many "No" with the upcoming models, perhaps someone at C&C Mercedes or PML went over to join Wearnes and declare that Volvo brand can sell by itself.

I've received a marketing email from them recently for their latest facelift XC40 with Google AAOS. They are still promoting the connectivity as a selling point so I have my doubts there is no more built-in GPS/SIM. Can't be MY23 XC40 has built-in GPS/SIM then MY23 XC60 with the same AAOS don't have right?

Good information. Save my time to look into XC60 with these "No"s.

I am a sucker for ventilated seats since I own a S60 in 2017. Ever since, all my subsequent cars comes with this feature. Cannot go back 😅
