Still behind Norway as they current stand at 83% Electric Cars as of 2022. They also have EV only carparks and pass a “Right to charge” law.

These charger will be likely to be 5kw.

For 40kwh battery, it will be overnight charging.

Thought that would be at least 7kW (32A single phase).  Most EVs has at least 80kWh battery these days.

3 points in 1 MSCP is really too few as there are many inconsiderate people in singapore. They will plug in and not plug out even if fully charged.

Perhaps there can be a mechanism built into the charging point: Before you plug in, you need to register with your NRIC, tel number and a prepaid amt of $200 (though credit card or some prepaid card). When fully charged, the system will send you a SMS. You have a grace period of 15 min to unplug and move your vehicle. If you do so within that 15 min grace period, you get back $200 less amt charged for the electricity. For every min after the grace period of 15 min, you will be charged $5/min which will be deducted from your deposit when you finally unplug.

Then i got to wake-up 3am just to shift the car.LOL.....

Unless owners are using 13A (3kW) wall socket to charge their EV at home.  Most wallboxes installed at home are rated between 7kW to 22kW.

Typical LTA, got a 1st world country like Norway to learn from, they also don’t want. For LTA, it’s always “LIMPEH” know better.

Maybe we will get to see the offshore nuclear power plant.

Let's not kid ourselves. If every car owner now is switching to driving an EV the power grid needs a major upgrade. Burning natural gas to produce electricity might not be sustainable on the long run.

Correct, they only shift the pollution from A to B...

Then no choice since the car owner decides to plug in at late hours.

LoL...If you want to put it this way. Anyway we humans are unable to harness energy cleanly so we will be shifting the pollution from point A to Z. Nothing will change.

Why worry? They will pay for every minute of overstay. See whether how many nights they could do this w/o having to wake up in the middle of the night.

Malaysia's system is charged by time. For example Shell's system over there is something like RM20 per 5 mins. So the longer you stay the more you pay (like parking).

During that time you want to take how much electricity is up to you (taking into account the charger speed plus your car's capacity).

But there will come a time when the car's batt will be 100% charged. By not removing the car promptly after charging, it deprives another person of a charging opportunity. Knowing SG lang, sure will have a lot of hoarders and patterns. A large proportion of our population are generally not considerate and civil.

Ya but the longer you stay the more you pay. If you charge full but still park there you're just paying for nothing.

Charge an adequately high rate and you see how many Singaporeans will hoard the lots.
