BabyBlade Internal Moderator March 9, 2022 Share March 9, 2022 My personal opinion is that the Model 3 is the better looking car and is where I would put my money (not that I have any). I used to think that it looks identical to the Mazda3, at least the frontal and side profile but after having driven one, I concede my impression did changed for the better. I don't know about the Polestar 2 but the surround sound system in the Model 3 Performance is superb 😆 Plus the oddly tall ride height of the Polestar 2 resembles a crossover more than a sedan, and that's not exactly to my liking. Read our comparison review on the Model 3 vs Polestar 2 here https://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=1889 The banner is in yellow and blue for obvious reasons... ↡ Advertisement
Watwheels Supersonic March 9, 2022 Share March 9, 2022 (edited) I chose polestar cos when i get into the car there are dedicated button, knobs and switches. I dont have to go to the touch the big screen to go look for a function buried deep in the menu. I feel that's the thing you dont have to so called "reinvent the wheel". What I dont like about Tesla is that they are not the traditional car maker. Take for example the instrument cluster panel. Why take it away? Car owners have to get from some Chinese online shop and have it install in the driver's line of sight. Another thing that bothers me is the aircon, outside air that enters the car. It is hollow. Ppl again have to buy from some Chinese online shop for a proper filter and cover. So now owners have 3 pieces of air filter to deal with just for aircon while other cars only have one. Although there are things like "sentry mode" from Tesla is good but in terms of car making they are still not there yet(those flaws I mentioned). And they try to do something different(switches and buttons). Even simple things like wiper washer fluid, you can easily see it on the polestar. That's a good personal review on the Telstar 3, BB. Any chance for you to test drive the Polestar 2? More for a rounded comparison per se. Would like to know how u find the Polestar 2. Stay safe Cheers

Lethalstrike Turbocharged March 9, 2022 Share March 9, 2022 I don't think its that high up in the Polestar 2 in terms of driving position from this picture alone. I do know in the Model 3 the driver's sitting position is more go-kart like (lower hip point and the legs are more straightened out), but to say the Polestar 2 is crossover like could be a bit far fetched. If really want crossover one should go for the Polestar 2's sister car, the Volvo XC40 Pure Electric.
DOBIEMKZ Turbocharged March 9, 2022 Share March 9, 2022 I have not been paying attention to this car brand Polestar. Now I know it is under Volvo. No wonder the car exterior and the front seats look alike the Volvo's. For the photo of the Polestar interior, why does it require a transmission tunnel through the rear if it is electric? A few things I dislike about the Tesla. No instrument cluster, unconventional way of opening the door, can only access glovebox by using the touchscreen (what if I hide my safety hammer inside the glovebox and my Tesla unexpectedly plunge into a river and I can't get the powered glovebox to open), no aircon controls. Aircon control is something I fiddle with all the time and I need it easily accessible inside of meddling with the screen. I like that the door handles are hidden but if there's a fire, I can see how the futuristic door handles may pose a bit of an issue to first responders although I also read there is a manual door release. Tesla owners, please enlighten me because I'm lazy to google. Sleek, but is this safe? Hmmm. 3

Polestar has been around for a long time. It used to be the tuning arm of Volvo. There were polestar performance editions for some Volvo models in the past. It is like Mugen for Honda, AMG for Merc, etc. I think they use the transmission tunnel to store the extended range model's extra battery.

Didn't know they have aftermarket instrument panel to install. But if you buy into the idea of driving the Tesla, then I think it defeats the purpose of installing an aftermarket panel. You either live without one, or you wait for the next best thing. Of the many comments about the Tesla build quality, one thing I personally noticed was the less than satisfactory workmanship or design of the rubber door seal. I think I have a photo of it but I probably have to dig through my gallery. That being said, Tesla vs Polestar? I'm your TYPICAL Singaporean. Lots of online comments but still gonna vote for PAP, I mean TESLA.

Stratovarius Turbocharged March 9, 2022 Share March 9, 2022 There are a couple of reviews from carwow. Anyway was interested in Tesla so went down to the showroom. After that decide to drop off the list. lol. a few of reasons - 1 - interior CMI. main deal breaker. my CFO rejected. 2 - glove compartment need touchscreen to release. wtf. 3 - boot space. probably a nitpick as im comparing to my current ride. 4 - overall feel like alot of cheap material.

Is this like how Infiniti is to Nissan or how Genesis is to Hyundai? Volvo and Polestar both have electric cars, similar design language thou..
