Typical of the French, with very revolutionary design features and high degree of automation. Think about Airbus, always the first to pioneer new design. But how reliable is this kind of complex machinery in the field? [laugh]

now is the best time for field test/review liao ah. after that can go back refine.

Joko is not that very tall. It's just that Putin is short.

I saw with the M777, need 1 guy to load the shell, another guy to stuff the propellant, and another 2 guys with a long stick to push them in to the barrel. 😁

So I guess that's some automation, save some energy.

I've heard from friend inside that Singapore's own 155m towed gun had lost in foreign sales competition to others who had more automation.

Also notice the ultra light pegasus 155 now never appear liao.

Subjective la. You see most of the Western main battle tanks persist with a loader while the Eastern tanks with autoloaders have that weakness get shown up in lurid detail in the Ukraine conflict.

And you know that Singapore with its low hey-sho rates, they are very big on automation and reduction of manpower yet they continue with manual loading - they must think they have a good rationale for doing so.

Haven't got time to try decipher this long meeting...definitely not a simple NATO meeting as sleepy Joe seemed to last throughout...

What's the biggest takeaway?

This is the time you wish wishcumtrue, wishcumback, nolicence, roadrunner, happyman etc are here...or maybe not 😅

er. what about anti missile and anti submarine systems?

I think they are already getting NASAMS (from US) and IRIS-T (from Germany) anti-air/missile systems separately and anti-sea Harpoon missiles.

Anti-sub is probably missing, maybe later. 😃

Yup, one expand via willing participants, and Russia also want to expand and claim back previous ex-USSR countries, annexing lands via force.

the tragedy is that it has land, oil, wood, minerals, agriculture, sea resources, educated population, close ties right next to EU... practically a country playing with unlimited cheat codes.... yet its been one long disaster of unfulfilled dreams for its people.

but the biggest joke is that many of its people dont even know.

Is "fanning the fire" the logical move? Or is Europe so eager for war?

Wouldnt it spoil the plans of the Indonesian president?

Poor dude. It will be a wasted trip.

The talk about Russia running out of funds for the war. That cant be true if they are still exporting oil to India and China. All the sanctions and not buying Russian oil, who suffer? The rest of the world? And are we going to suffer high oil prices permanently with the expansion of nato membership? Why is it that only the Indonesian president is seeking peace? What is the UN doing? This really is the big question. Does the US has so much influence over the UN? Yes, it does seem so.

UN should be trying and trying for peace negotiations. UN should also delay the plans for nato membership expansion. It is sad that world leaders are making all the wrong moves.

UN HQ in NYC?

Towed guns are too slow to deploy and scoot, very hard to survive the modern battlefield.  They should all be sent to the museum.

Got use la. Though I agree in the age of drones,  counter fire is getting serious. But not all adversaries are tech advanced enough.

A towed gun at the most basic is a lump of Steele. Put inside warehouse 20 years take out still usable, illitrate Taliban also can use. A self propelled one has chassis and various electronics that's expensive and hard to maintain.

Budget issue lor.
