Sg is in a strategic position. Imagine it's occupied by China, US won't allow that to happen.

As a small boy and during NS. We were lead to believe that all SAF had to do was hold out for some time till help came. 
now looking at all the what has happened in the last few decades, I have little confidence help will come fast enough.

hmm actually based on doctrine, don't think we ever planned for help to arrive. We aren't close to US forces at all.

Of course we can't sustain any prolonged war effort due to our small size. But we have some strategic objectives to secure before negotiating for peace.

Damage to mainland will probably come more from asymmetric threats. Realistically speaking given our relative naval/arty/air superiority,  our neighbour's conventional force will not really threaten the mainland. 
Especially given how accurate guided weapons can be nowadays.

I think this hypothetical analysis is aligned to what you’re saying, of course it deliberately excludes Indonesia from the situation but likewise other countries from intervening.

There is a reason why in a city state with hardly any forest, all of our land forces are painted green and our No.4 are camouflage pattern.
