Fr Today news.

Surprisingly people still think that they can get away with corruption. They carried on for a solid 7 years...

Clean does not mean corruption free.

SINGAPORE — Two former NTUC FairPrice employees were charged on Friday (May 6) with receiving bribes amounting to about S$523,000 from several people to advance their business interests with the supermarket chain.

Lim Kian Kok, 47, formerly a senior team leader at NTUC FairPrice, is facing 34 corruption charges. See Hock Lam, 69, a former team leader at NTUC FairPrice faces 31 corruption charges.

The offences were allegedly committed between 2013 and 2020, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) said in a news release.

The bribes were allegedly obtained as inducement for Lim to further the business interests of various fish suppliers with NTUC FairPrice.

Three other people in the fish supply business at the time have been charged over their involvement in the alleged corruption offences.

Heah and Ng each face eight charges of bribing Lim with S$43,500 and S$217,500 respectively from 2013 to 2020.

Anyone found guilty of a corruption offence can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to S$100,000 or both.

CPIB said that companies are strongly advised to put in place robust procedures in areas such as procurement and internal audit to prevent falling victim to corrupt acts by their employees.

No wonder prices of fish at ntuc so high...along with the 'faulty weighing scales' issue..looks like this national trade union congress organisation needs a thorough clean-up....

Im not surprised if there are other ongoing undiscovered cases on poultry? Vege? Cooking oil? Potato chips?

The more interesting thing was that the whole case was uncovered by HWZ. 😳

Maybe one day MCF will uncover some corruption case also...🤔

I think he was not convicted for corruption but,

Lim, 42, was convicted last month of giving false information to auditors from the Ministry of National Development (MND) in 2012 over a S$57,200 deal to buy 26 Brompton bikes, which had prompted a public outcry over whether NParks had got value for money.

He'll be out soon. No discount for good behaviour? Four 6-year terms consecutively is really crushing. He had probably embarrassed quite a lot of high-ups given he is only a lowly employee but outsmarted everyone for so long.

Doing it for 7 years then got caught.. obviously they continue to do what they always did to get what they always got.

but if u divide 500 000 by 7 years.

it less than 100 k a year .

not worth the risk ..for less than 7 k a month
