Yet the Bali bombing occured.  Anyway I'm not specifically against the Bali locals.. If I was planning a holiday trip to Batam or Bintan I would say gotta scrap the trip also..

i'm well-acquainted with the Bali and (multiple) JKT bombings - i was in country during a few of them and know people that lost friends/staff in some of them. Doesn't make me ban the entire country.

yes i would agree better to avoid Riau Islands for the time being. This Somad joker is a pretty localised radical.

Shanmu gor so sarcastic 😂

“I find this very interesting that we are not the only place that has denied Somad entry,” Mr Shanmugam said.

“I wonder if Somad supporters also threatened China because he was refused entry into Hong Kong and threatened the other European countries?” he added. “Or is it that only Singapore gets special mention and they are brave enough to threaten Singapore but not the others?”

I don't feel it as sarcastic le. It is factual.

Indonesia is a nice country, with nice people mostly.

Except for a few crazy retarded extremists, we'll have to stand guard and vigilant against these people.

Luckily not many. Otherwise, difficult to handle, as they have many blind followers.

This guy is dangerous.

Last week, Somad said he would not give up trying to visit Singapore, describing the country as Malay land similar to Riau where he is from. In a YouTube video, he said that people in Riau see Singapore as part of their land because Singapore was part of the Temasek Malay kingdom.

It’s claims like these that were cited in Singapore’s condemnation of Russia’s “special operations” in Ukraine.

Singapore cannot endorse any form of hostile retaking of land on the basis of past history, else there will be countries all around us waiting to pluck this rich juicy fruit now it is ripe through no effort, sorry, despite their best efforts.

Even the British and the Japanese can claim past ownership here, but each, including the Sultans before them, have signed away Singapore.

These Indonesians should go to their forefathers graves to ask why they signed away Singapore, not come to us to claim what they say is theirs.

What a joke.

All of us have a duty to be alert in spotting subversive elements around us and report to the authorities immediately.

It is good, he and his Indonesian followers are alienating local followers. We need to stop these extremist thoughts from taking roots here.

It is scary that the Indo govt knows (from their response) this guy is a radical but still can't stop him from spreading his teachings in Indonesia.  It is a matter of time that Indonesia will have its own Taliban movement. That is what worries me.

Our embassy in Indonesia should also identify Somad's followers for visa restriction.

Joko is disinclined to stick his neck out and risk being labelled as anti-muslim again

and maybe Joko is more worried abt the incoming Malaysian ambassador 🤣

anyway their counter-terrorism agency has responded https://www.beritasatu.com/news/928909/soal-ustaz-abdul-somad-ditolak-singapura-ini-respons-bnpt

LoL...what do you want him to say? As long as his polis and anti-terrorist army do their job I feel it is good enough. No need to say much. Action is better than talking anyways. Imo it is far better than all talk and no action.
