Transitional / Photochromic Film

I thought such film will be useful on panoramic roof without the screen/sun-blind to cover up such that it tints during the day and clears up during low light to enable visibility. Curious to hear feedback on such film and if they indeed function (close to) how transition lens work.

Couple of installers in the market with such films - Tintsy Cool, Absolute Tint, Jerga, etc.

only con is 3 years life span 👍

Pardon my ignorance but do you mean transitioning effects last only 3 years or are you referring to the LTA inspection aspect of it? If the latter, I'm not too concern as planning to use it on the moonroof.

If it is not a hot day, I will open sunroof.

Otherwise, air cond is on auto mode with temp set at 20 deg.

Within ECU, there is Euro or Tropical setting.

It is good enough for me sitting in the front.

Thanks for sharing and good to know that it is still comfortable during the midday sun in Singapore. Curious if this is so because you close up the pano / moonroof blind to block out the midday heat/glare? There are couple of cars (e.g. Tesla, iX, etc) that have the panoramic roof but without such blind so wondering how bad the greenhouse effect is without having the blind to block out the heat.

I don't close the blind unless sun shines on my wife.

I don't find it hot with the sun shining in.

In fact, it feels like topless cabrio.
