Socialising the negative impact of extreme fuel saving driving behaviour to other road users. Even not because of fuel saving, drivers also anyhow drive. ↡ Advertisement

It's about trying to make the most of the $ and nothing wrong with it, pretty much an individual habit? I have a family member who is always waiting for certain days to go supermarket because he can get an additional 2% rebate, sets air con to 25-26 degrees to save electricity, walk an additional 10 minutes just so that he can park for free. Let's put it this way... he's by no means considered average in terms of net worth. To further contribute to fuel savings ideas: 1) When changing tyres, go for those with lower rolling resistance, esp if you are a high mileage driver. 2) Ensure your engine air filter is regularly changed/cleaned during servicing. 3) Try to drive your car within it's cruising speed on highway rather than go >100 km/hr on lane 1 always. Well actually yes, it's not about the price of the car... Everyone wants the most bang for their buck. I agree. But there's really no need to get triggered when someone says they can afford ron98 petrol because they own a cheapo/dinky Japanese car... Only reason to get so triggered is because they're financially insecure, and have overleverage their finances just to prove he's got a bigger dick/car... Issue here is that when you are following a coasting-to-a-stop car, you have to modulate the brake and keep very close attention to the speed it is slowing down and watch for any sudden unexpected sudden stop for a much longer period of time..... I implore for everyone to start thinking for other fellow road users behind you when coasting to a stop. The type that irritates me more are those that stop 50 m behind the front car at a light, then every few seconds rolls forward 10 m. Compelling me to do the same else will end up with a 50m gap between our cars 1

The bugger coasted thru an amber light and the light turned red right in front of me. 🤬 1 2

And I only jam my brakes to a complete stop only when I reach 2 car lengths to the guy at the stop line. Otherwise I just coast at 40, 50km/hr. Is that too sudden or what? Tell me, so I don't get road-raged upon. Thanks!

Driving in urban setting takes skill and experience since it is also about interaction with the rest of the road users and reading the current traffic condition. That is also why AI for autonomous driving is still generations away from being wven close to being practical in urban city driving.

Atonchia Supersonic June 24, 2022 Share June 24, 2022 My suggestion is Sell the car, quit the current job to find a delivery job that provide a van or lorry to drive home + provide fuel card. vehicle is free, no worries on road tax, insurance and servicing/repair Fuel is paid by company. can ferry more passenger than a 300k 7 seater SUV. Then only thing is need to pay for season parking. If stay condo, is part of maintenance fee, if stay landed can park roadside - totally free.

Can stretch leg, no hurry to reach destination by certain time people will always say la but depending on your circumstances. If you in a hurry, still walk one big round to save $0.60 parking, then a bit problem
