Klopp's team is generally set up to attack, not defend.  Defending in his mind is probably high press, counter press to get the ball back. Hence, the entire system is dependent on Pool winning the ball back high up the pitch. The issue is when the team is sitting in a defensive position, that's where the team's weaknesses becomes so glaringly naive. When the team is scoring freely like in the past, the system is well-liked and applauded. But the team loses, that's where the defending and particularly TAA is always singled out.  I think Konate is probably the right player to partner VVD but he is still a work in progress and fitness wise, he seems to be in and out.

Life and football is like the wave - up and down.

Liverpool team is now at the low point ebb. Can't be any worse going forward.

Need a major rebuild for next season.

Been there before. It's rinse, flush, dry and repeat the cycles.

Buck stops at FSG owners. No worries. lol

Vinicius is their star and so young. Going to win all at club level many times over…

we need some Brazilian talent… will arsenal sell Martinelli to us for 50m?… I know klopp rates him highly

i will keep salah for another 1-2 years cos there needs to be stability in the front line.  This year, one key contributing factor why Pool is so poor defensively is also due to the couple of changes to frontline i.e. Nunez and Gapko.  The whole system of pressing starts from the front and needs to be coordinated manner.  Right now, I think the team is just figuring out how to manage the pressing..

Playing high press require high energy(aka younger player) & are more injury prone(short burst running & turning)

Are high press/counter press sustainable?

Don't tell me every 3/4 seasons need to flush & restart.........cum owner are not rich to do it

that's why Pool typically do not buy players > 25 yr old. They will run out of legs in a few years under Klopp's demanding requirements on the pitch.

The last such player was Thiago who was almost 30 yr old when he came through the door. Feel that the jury is out there whether this was an inspired piece of business or a wrong move.

Lets go straight to the most important question.

Is Klopp at fault?

Diaz, Jota and Firmino injured. Diaz was our best player last year. Jota always scores especially the most important first goal. Firmino is so experience he has been at Pool longer than Klopp. 3 very experienced and important players injured most of this season.

Investment in midfield. Last midfielder signed Thiago in 2020. The last player signed before Thiago? Fabinho in 2018. So lack of investment by our owners.

Very unfortunate that Ox and Keita permanently injured. Could we foresee this? Well if they could foresee this I am sure they would never have been bought.

Fabinho and Hendo loss of form. Who could foresee this? Fabinho was our best midfielder last season. The season we went to 3 finals and lost the PL by 1 point.

VVD injured and loss his speed. VVD has been mostly been injury free most of his career. His loss of speed is because of the dirty tackle by Prickford.

Joe Gomez was even better than VVD when we won the PL as all the strikers target him not want to take VVD on because of his reputation. Who could foresee Gomez to be so out of form this season.

We gave away all 5 goals to RM which could have been avoided.

First goal Gomez gave too mush space to Vini Jr. He had all the defenders in position and Gomez should have closed him down and not give him so much space to shoot.

Second goal our best player got a bit excited and started twisting and turning in midfield and ran into traffic. He should have kept it simple but he has started less than 10 games in their first team and first European game against the holders and 14 time CL champions.

Captain Hendo and Fabinho should have been guiding him thru the game.

Second Madrid goal Alison should just have cleared it but these days keepers get f@#ked for just hoofing the ball upfield. They have to control the ball and pass out of defence to setup attacks. Alisson has also been our best player this season and no one should blame him too much.

Our attack Nunez new country, new language, new teammates, new tactics and Portuguese League is a lot less competitive than PL. Nunez has like 14 goals and assist and only has half a season at Pool.

Gekpo similar new country, new language, new teammates, new tactics and Dutch League is a lot less competitive than PL.

But we did score the first 2 goals and first 20 minutes our new look attack with 2 new and raw players were looking fantastic.

At 2 - 0 up I think Hendo should have tightened up and stayed more compact. I don't think Hendo understood how precious taking a 2 - 0 lead to the next leg is.

Our captain is not street smart.

When Hendo first join Pool he would hit a long pass and if it didn't find the striker he would put up his hand to apologise.

King Kenny took him aside and said to him, you don't need to tell the whole world when you made a bad pass!

Hendo is not a gifted player technically but he makes up for this by hard work and a lot of running. But when he runs less than he doesn't make a big contribution except f@#king people when he himself has not been playing well.

I think that's leadership to him.

TLDR?

Exec Summary:

2 seasons ago a reporter asked Klopp will you be buying reinforcements?

And Klopp in has sarcastic tone replied, "buy more players? What do you mean? 10 in and 10 out?"

In short our owners using our profits and pushing to their US team and no money for us to rebuild 2 years ago.

We are playing the price for lack of investments today.

👍Jurgen Klopp says his Liverpool players have to learn from this tough spell and is confident they will make this bad time useful.

"The better you behave in a moment like this, the better the times will be after this," Klopp said.

"The bad times have to be useful otherwise they are completely useless. Imagine all our lives if we hadn't have learnt from our failures and learn from the moments when things didn't go so well. We wouldn't be the be the same people, so we have to learn from this and we will."

How good is Klopp?

Klopp has taken us to 5 CL campaign and 3 finals!

:D

The value of a football manager can be assessed in many ways, but one which seems particularly important is how effective they are with their in-game changes. In the most obvious sense, Jurgen Klopp has few equals on this front.

Since the start of 2016/17, the Liverpool manager's substitutes have made 83 goal contributions in the Premier League, scoring 49 times and providing 34 assists (per Transfermarkt).

This is three more than his great rival Pep Guardiola has mustered from the Manchester City bench, while only Antonio Conte from the other 20 managers with at least 80 matches in that period has had more frequent goal involvements from his subs.

Hendo is a dummy. Stopped a great goal from TAA!

Milner is so much street smarter than Hendo.

To stop break always when we lose possession in midfield

Milner will put in a foul.
