A home win to sign off the “mid season” break, with goals from RF9 and Nunez (2).

After a fast 30 plus minutes, the match gradually settled.

We are still shaky at times, with Saints able to cut through us relatively easily. AB1 to the rescue with 3 top top saves.

We owe this victory to him.

Next game will be away to ManC in the Carabao Cup, scheduled 2-3 days after the WC final.

A special shout out to James Milner, making his 600 PL appearance. Only the 4th person to do it.

Will he surpass the 653?

Liverpool no FTX or Twitter.

:D

“Liverpool have such steady revenue streams that any buyer would be paying a premium because everything is in place,” Tim Keech, co-founder of MRKT Insights, told The Athletic.

“We’re talking about one of football’s crown jewels and they don’t become available very often. Manchester City was a project buy, a bit like Newcastle. You were buying a Premier League club and trying to turn them into a big club. Liverpool are already in the top five in the world in terms of profile and reach.

“There aren’t many people with £3billion to £4billion to spend. Then you’ve got potential issues in terms of who will be accepted by fan groups. But there will be a lot of interest. I don’t see it being one high net worth individual but a group of investors or another fund like FSG.”

3 to 4 billion actually not that absurd sum if one take into context our latest treasury bill in November. 12plus billion over 4 billion on offered.  No wonder globally we are one of the richest city.

Ask our MAS to buy over Liverpool?🤣🤣

Andy Robertson has equalled a Premier League record. With his 2 assists vs Southampton, he now joins Leighton Baines as the defender with the most assists in PL history with 53, but with significantly lesser games

I know it's early days and there is one big world Cup break from now to our next game..

Think we can see what Klopp was trying to achieve last night. Instead of being an Andy Carroll type no. 9, Nunez takes up the left forward position, create havoc by drifting into centre like what Fernando Torres used to do... Will be interesting when Jota and Diaz are back... throw Elliot and Carvalho into the mix (playing as link man like RF9)... Klopp wants to start fast and put in a few goals before sitting back to manage the game and counter attack.

New contract for Firminho?

I say no. Let him go and get someone younger preferably to replace Salah in another couple of years.

Pool possible new owner could come from India. The 8th richest man in the world. (asset worth more than $90billions pound)

So new menu for Pool training center would be:

1) Breakfast - Chapati, Dosai, putu-mahyam, wahdey and teh tarrek or teh masala

2) Lunch - Masala chicken, mutton or chicken biryani

3) Dinner - Curry fish head, mutton rendang, egg-tofu & yogurts

From Yahoo news :

Liverpool takeover: Mumbai Indians owner worth £90bn makes move as Mbappe transfer claims re-emerge

Liverpool FC are reportedly the subject of fresh takeover interest after an enquiry from the eighth-richest man in the world, the multi-billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

The future of the Merseyside giants is gaining a lot of attention after the news earlier this week that FSG are preparing to sell their controlling interest. Having bought Liverpool for £300m in October 2010, they have overseen one of the most successful periods in the club’s rich history.

Indeed, under their tenureship, Liverpool have reached three European Cup finals – winning the Champions League in 2019. And with Jurgen Klopp at them helm since October 2015, they have also ended a 30-year wait to be crowned champions of England.

Fenway Sport Group have also invested £1.254bn into transfers during their time in charge. And we have ranked all 77 of their signings from worst to best since taking charge.

Despite their success, there remains a feeling that FSG cannot compete with some of the more rich owners of the Premier League. As such, the club was reportedly put up for sale this week, with their Boston-based owners seeking around £4bn.

As a result, a number of wealthy benefactors have been linked with an approach. Indeed, Boston Celtics co-owner, Stephen Pagliuca, was this week named as a potential favourite to succeed FSG.

Pagliuca owns assets worth around £119bn, seriously dwarving Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour by £112bn.

But in terms of real wealth and actual funds, Pagliuca could be blown away by Ambani. As per Forbes, Indian businessman Abani is the world’s eighth-richest man.

And despite strong competition to buy Liverpool FC, the Daily Mirror reports he is ready to make a strong push to acquire the club.

Mukesh Ambani wants to buy Liverpool in takeover bid

And the newspaper reports that he is emerging as serious frontrunner in the race to buy the Reds. And while there is rival interest from the Middle East and USA, Ambani has proven in the past that he lets little stand in his way once he wants something.

An associate of King Charles, Ambani is the owner of Munbai Indians and helped set up the Indian Premier League. And while cricket is his major love, he also holds a strong interest in football. In fact, the Premier League is one of the most watched sports in India after cricket and is rapidly catching up.

Indeed, after creating the Munbai Indians, he has been labelled as the ‘world’s richest sports team owner’ by Forbes.

And with that, he brings an incredible wealth to the sport, attracting the world’s elite cricketers to his side.

Think any contract extension for Bobby is likely to be pretty short term. wont be surprised if it is yearly renewal basis. while we are expecting the sunset effects of his career to kick in soon, this early season form has proved that he is still a valuable asset with his one of best goals contribution in the team.  Klopp is a huge fan of Bobby and he wont be a bad retention to the team if he is there as a squad player and also to mentor the younger forwards in Diaz, Nunez and even Jota. That said, this should not be at an expense of further investment in at least another top young forward to come thru the ranks in the next 2-3 seasons.

The reason for the above view is that Klopp has a more pressing issue to seek investments in the midfield area.  the gap is big and I am getting doubt whether the hype of getting Jude Bellingham will materialise, Even if he comes through the door, there is a need to get at least another ready 1st team midfielder within the 1-2 seasons as we can see how fast Hendro and Thiago are getting less effective with their age.

Milner, Keita and Ox set to be released next summer... though Curtis Jones just signed another contract...

I hope Milner stays as a coach or goes somewhere else to start his coaching career...

Ok I won't be able to moan about Ox and Keita next season :D

Now every club will ask for money if we approach their midfielders... cos we will lose 3 this coming summer... even if both Morton and Bajcetic are stepping up, we are still 1 or 2 midfielders short...

Mason Mount has 18 mths left on his contract though..

Saw reports saying Firminho to be offered extension to 2025
