Gange river is the world fifth most polluted river, there are human discharge, uncontrolled industrial toxic waste discharge,  burned corpse and whole corpse, the list of contamination runs on, the guy should spend more efford and time to create awarness on how to clean up the river. Sad to see the pollution  of the river at the current state.

This is the holy river,  producing the holy water,  only holy and sin-less ppl can drink it like normal water.  Any evil and sinful ppl will be cleansed and detoxify of evil thoughts and sinful deeds.  

The fact that he only started cleansing HOURS later at least showed that he is not so bad a guy after all.  If you send any American politicians there,  just smelling the vapour would have them shaking,  and a sip would create an immediate reaction and ma siong toh.

This sort of idiocy reminds me of the other deplorable practice in Indian and Pakistani villages where they would smear the umbilical stump (oozing, new belly button) of the neonate (newborn) with ghee prepared by heating with cowdung as a fuel source. Because it's "tradition" lah, "holy" lah. And those same innocent little babies would often die of tetanus.

I am not a believer in god (I refuse to capitalise the moniker of that delusion of delusions), but I just wish the believers out there would wake up and stop believing their almighty creator is gonna come and save their little one. If anything (and both myth and history are reliable sources), "god" seems to love butchering babies.
