in 2016 i was also retrenhed and retired.  Thank goodness they forced me.

Please lah, 67 already, time to let go.  Cycling around SG park connector is a great idea, i think its something i will also do when i retire.  Great exercise and fun safe way to see and enjoy Singapore.    Excellent suggestion!

I wa retrenched in late 2019 too, fortunately or unfortunately, i was sucked back into workforce in less than a month before i could sit down to think about my next move. 

Now am facing difficulties deciding when to self-retire, i realised it is so difficult to make that decision, mainly due to unwillingness/unable to let go(放不下，看不开），it is so easier said than done.  

But the returning to workforce changes my perspective in life significantly at my age, having a job, friends and loved ones around me is a celebration evey moment.

yes once you are in it again, it’s hard to let go.  

Thats why i say it is better the company decide for you sometimes.

Definitely easier said than done. I hope when my time comes, i can do it and not look back.

I am also waiting for golden handshake.  If it doesn't happen, I don't mind working for a few more years.  Anyway, my current job is not super stressful type.

I also love to, from my first job, I never got a chance to be retrenched. I volunteer also my boss say cannot😭

I sub the job to you, you take 30%, I take 70%. You take all the abuse on my behalf and make sure my boss is happy. Tomorrow when we have the call, I will propose this.🤣

stopped working few years back.....so not eligible for this thread. 

All I can say about retirement is that it is something that you need to plan from young, assuming there is no big inheritance or winning toto along the way.
