I don't believe if remove PHVs bidding will drive up COE even more. They just don't want to kill the golden goose. Drive up what costs?🙄

Actually having the same Cat for private owners and commercial company bidding for the same Cat, a bit unfair for private owners. They should have a separate coe Cat just for commercial company to bid for commercial use.

All will depend on how they distribute the quota... if give all the quota to PHV and left a handful for private sure cost go up lah... if they retain the quota level  but reallocate PHV to new pool COE sure down (but this will never happen since quota suppose to freeze). Straight away assume cost up means they intend to allocate bulk to PHV lor... in other words they arent focusing on congestion but commercial usage

...the problem with them is that they all think we are all stupid....whatever reason they come out we just take in and accept. Time has changed and they have not....

It is not about killing the golden goose. they can just remove the COE fluctuation by even out the quota, so people know what a car generally cost and planning out buying and scraping. Old cars slowly phased out and new better ones introduced.  Now the market is in a sick situation where car owners holding on to their old cars and keep on renewing COE. New and more environmental friendly cars can not sell. People maxed out usage of their cars and vans for reason that the price is sky high and use it to the very max, the consequences is super jammed up morning commute just for sending their kids to school.

they don't want to do anything about it simply because they don't want to have additional work for them. paid so much and yet don't want to solve problems....

61% don't see it leh....

Like how they cannot find any evidence of price collusion with the petrol companies? :D

It’s a zero sum game. PHV serves the masses. If there is any policy change, gahmen only has incentive to make PHV COE lower and COE for private buyers higher.

so just suck it up and don’t make silly suggestions that make the situation worse

When Coe price level was low for many years, nobody complain the system is bad. Now when Coe is high, suddenly many people say the system is bad and needs change.
