Electric drivetrain is simpler to maintain. It faces the same battery degradation like EV. Lastly, I think road tax is higher of ICE or EV.

A kona EV is 1.6K road tax annually but hybrid and ice counts the same way if I'm not wrong, so 1.6cc is about 750 annually?

I kinda like korean cars but now abit headache on what to change due to coe too high and my current car coe is ending… Honestly, if u want something short term either 2nd hand car, or those B&B cars. Expensive still, but is the cheapest of the lot now still. Talking about cars like Avante, Altis, Cerato. Then maybe when prices down can trade in for an EV. If not consider other EVs like Kona, Ioniq or MG ZS Edited September 8, 2022 by josh98

Straight from onemotoring "To find out your road tax, calculate road tax twice: first based on your car's engine capacity, then based on its maximum electric power rating. The higher amount will be the road tax you have to pay. From 1 January 2021, road tax payable based on maximum electric power rating shall be computed using the revised road tax schedule of electric cars for road tax payable between 1 January and 31 December 2021, and from 1 January 2022 onwards respectively." EV is supposed to pay more upfront. But the saving is during usage. It is a disadvantaged low mileage car.

Tempting sia… seems like budget is not that big a factor if u are waiting for ioniq 5 and u r prepared for the EV charging and all too. it will prob be the same price as a Tesla, don't expect it to be below 200K for sure. 3 hours ago, sHy3r said: Erm for hybrid i tot the road tax is based on the Cc of the engine? but hybrid cars now have 10 years warranty? depends on the AD/place u buy from. 2nd hand Niro now road tax is 732/year
