That's what i thought too. Why work when with that 9 million SGD all he has to do to get rich is to snap up properties and then rent them out? Don't even need any fancy idea or business plan.

Question is which property? If buy in sg for foreigner need pay 28% BSD

if buy JB lose half value

Probably his plan is to keep majority of the $$$$ in bank.

Thinking it will be enough for his kids when they grow up.

But he probably knows buying properties in Johor probably is capital loss.

Looking at how ABSD keeps on going up.

Exactly. If he wants to continue working, then just work as a landlord.  Being a landlord to multiple properties is also quite some work; many property maintenance, tenancy and tenant-related matters have to make decisions on even if he has an agent to help him out.

Indeed, dont think it is so easy to manage so many properties and if rental out. You must be very good in financing planning related, then can do such thing. Maybe buy one property for rental income enough liao.

It depends on the person learning agility.

Start from 1 property, slowly add on the portfolio.

With $10m, the potential to own 10s of property is enormous.

Since need to pay ABSD, might as well park everything under family office.

Yes, depends on the person learning agility. But sometimes some people are good at certain things, but some people no matter how hardworking they learned also still no good. Good example, some people are born to be very good in numbers, but some people are idiot in numbers. Lol.

Happy for this Man, at age 44 plenty to time to enjoy, but I think his life is in danger as he travel daily to Sp for work, everybody should know him by now, he should need financial consultant and spent his money wisely else he be soon back to his normal life style, also depends on how he invest his money, by not buying property here and there, he must be wise not to appear for work, change job and spent a year in exile planning his investment portfolio. ( Not safe to be in Malaysia or Singapore )

This is the reason why the poor when suddenly become not so poor, dont last long.

probably tons of scammers looking for him now.

tons of relatives and friends too.

best is just leave it in various banks in varying amounts over varying periods and just use the money slowly.

enjoy a bit, buy a few things which he always wanted.

for him, $10k per mth would be a good life already so, keep it simple dont think so hard.

Like you said poor when suddenly become not so poor, dont last long. Since suddenly have so much money, how to restrain ownself to use the money slowly? High chance would splurge the money without realising the money is reducing fast.
