HD599 doesn't need an amp to drive.. it works fine plug directly into mobile phones..

Of course a good DAC will make it sound better.. it sounds great with the quad DAC of my LG V50 phone.. 😄

Yup, told my wife that this model is possibly as high up as I'll buy since any higher model will need an amp to drive.. so likely won't be buying any more headphones after this.. 😆
