Assuming most well to do parents have access to good medical and nutrition, can live till 80+, their kids will likely be in the 60s (also half leg in coffin) liao. I got married really late in life, have kids even later , I don’t think I can afford to retire if they go to Uni. I’ll be slogging till I drop. I’m blessed to have met my wife who is my rock. But we are all adults to know when to pull the plug in a bad relationship. It the mindset of the person at the time of their lives. I love my kids, I’ll do anything for them , even when they annoy the shit out of me at times. My wife the same, I’m sure I annoy the shit out of her too at times. But that is called compromise in a relationship. i did. Most things I wanted to do in life when I was younger, many many relationships after and also Bluewaves and KTV. Gone overseas to Cheong for career. we all change and take the best memories of our previous relationships and move one to be a better version of ourselves. (I hope) . We also then know what we don’t want, when we meet bad ones. Even our parents relationships plays a part. Coming from a broken family, I saw as a child how much pain both my parents had gone through. you grow more conscious about what you don’t like to have on yourself and also your partner. Just remember, you might be that bad partner to the other person. But again, you will be the right person to someone else too. life is to short to slog it out alone.
