Most of the cars will be exported.

The factory is simply to demonstrate SG's capability in high-value production. Govt will never offer any major tax incentives to buy car here, locally-made or not.

But they did offer very generous tax incentives to have Hyundai come here. Isn’t it raiding our reserves for the future generation.
If very few pink ic benefit. Then what is the point? More for someone’s resume to look good to get a promotion and ownself say job well done? Koreans aren’t dumb, for them to come and setup shop, the handout must be very substantial.

Assembled in Singapore, car price cheaper? If no cheaper, what's the point of assembled in Singapore?

Because can made Singapore a hub for EVs with higher margin n currencies exchange protection

Let's say you need a pair of gloves to keep your fingers safe while gliding through the edges in the engine compartment.

To add on, really shocked to find uneven gaps and joints at the frunk and boot area.

And one more point (which has nothing to do with Singapore built quality), the white frame around the LCD display is a big turn off, make the car feel cheap. Something like the thick black bezel on base trim Mercedes and BMW.

Is it? If majority don’t hit 160k, then why almost all used cars need to clock the odometer? 😂

100k rewind to 50k huh?

Tax incentive for the company. Not for end consumer.

SG benefits from the foreign capital inflow, both from Hyundai in setting up operation here, as well as from the export sales. Whether that benefit trickle down to the man on the street, will have to wait and see.

the car is only assemble in SGP right? no design or manufacturing being carried out in SGP, so it i sunlikely a SGP problem.  But then , since SGP is so new to automibile manufacturing technology, we have to be prepared to accept some initial shorfalls along the way.

nowadays human is out of the equation, robot did the most... "When in full swing, the highly automated assembly will be manned by no more than 30 people." So as long govt give them incentives to setup factory here, they will come.

assembly is mainly robots. probably not robots not fully tuned yet. tiagong got delay in the construction and they may have to rush these cars out. GL to those who buy the first batch.

I actually don't mind paying little bit more to get a MIK car.

It's like people paying more for MIJ appliances compared to lesser models MIC

So I hear that

- pricing seems similar to original MIK pricing

- got F&F issues

looks like no need for Singkies to think about this.

I think its great we have car factory here.

20% of our GDP should be manufacturing.

And which overseas company come here don't want incentives?

If we don't offer our SEA neighbours happily take their business.

:D

EVs are high tech, high value add and in tezzla's case high priced products.
