Wow! $60 for 4 is pretty expensive no? Looking to do yakitori without breaking the bank in Dec... is this chain found all over Japan or only in Central Japan? Unfortunately me frog in the well... never really tried yakitori before...

I googled and I can find it in Tokyo.
Sgd60 net for 4 pax is really not that expensive and is probably one of the cheapest u can find in Japan with a decent restaurant setting.
in Singapore, u definitely cannot get that value anywhere.
For cheap meals, I think Matsuya is pretty ok but I think for a little bit more yayoiken is my go to for a decent no fuss meal. Same or better quality as Singapore yayoiken but 40% cheaper?
Go and try yayoi in Singapore. If u like the food, then eat it in Japan cuz the quality is better and much cheaper too.

Nope…. Part of the reason why we like this shop is that the meat are all cooked and still tender. In the past, we have tried quite a few yakitori with meat reddish…. We don’t take raw stuff.

PM you.

If you are going to be in Kumamoto/ Takachiho area, try takachiho beef, much cheaper than in SG at Yen5280 for 300g in a BBQ restaurant.  Super good melt in your mouth type of Wangyu.

My daughter wanted to try a High end yakiniku on our last day but the place was fully booked when we went there, must have reservations.

So we missed out on trying wagyu... 😞

Anyway our meals overseas are usually the more casual and cheap kind. Japan dining is really good these days because of the exchange rate. Lots of good chain restaurants for decent, cheap, fast meals.

Man, I'm glad to hear that... don't mind me asking for anymore tips for good chains?

Congrats bro

Your photos and your sharing are very commendable, and your family looks very happy. I hope to get some of the quality of shots when I go in November but this round I'm only using my iphone..

Did you get the Suica / Icoca cards?

I got icoca cards for everyone. We even got a refund for the expired children icoca card I bought for my daughter many years ago.

i carry or rather my daughter carry a lot of photo gear 🙂

I am pretty sure u will enjoy the trip. We liked it so much that we booked another short trip to Tokyo in 2024… via scoot. Everything seems to be a bargain because of the exchange rate. I regret not buying some stuff so want to go back and buy.

On my trip I bought icoca cards. The children icoca card needs to get from train station but the adult one is easily available.
