hard to survive unless it's like neighborhood center where there are high footfall. Can sell stuff to foreigners, loose items like cheaper canned drinks/ice cream on hot days. Also snacks for school kids etc.

Some that seem to be doing ok. sell veggies and have no sheng siong/supermarket nearby.

Isn’t 7-11 the new convenience shop?  

Just need to update product range (sell food, drinks, snacks, fast moving consumer goods, etc) and not complete with online platforms on price.

Honestly I've not bought a single item from convenience store locally except cash cards for many years. Except when I was hospitalized. LL. 

Japan or Taiwan don't say lah. 

Also petrol station items is maybe once every few years. 

But i do buy canned drinks from these neighborhood minimarts on hot afternoons. Cos the markup is acceptable to me. 

Hard to earn my money. Coming from a more frugal background. Lol buy drinks also only buy promo items. Lol

Petrol station sometimes got sell those Pokka bottle drinks at $1 (maybe to clear stock). When I see I just buy

I used to buy 2 at bundle price in hospitals last time on call. Cos can drink one then keep the 2nd bottle for the next day.
