@Spidey10 I just came back from MALAYSIA. Mysejahtera App on my phone still says Unvaccinated. Don't worry. Nobody checks anyway. Been to many malls, restaurants and 2 hotels. They do not check and no check-in required, same as SG.  But just bring your MOH paper vaccination cert just in case. Wear your mask when indoors. Lucky I got MyRFID tag fitted on my car windscreen, fast and seamless.

Thanks…I managed to finally get it to show I am vax on the App… courtesy of my wife! 😂.

I just have no patience to scroll thru those instructions…🤦‍♂️

I got the RFID fitted as well when they announced, but hv never used it before… hope still can use..😂😂

link to my t&g card, and I got the app as well. We will see in a few weeks time, else will cause a minor slowdown…😂😂

To all motorists who did not link your TNG card to your e wallet: DO NOT PUT MONEY IN YOUR TNG CARD WHEN IT IS INACTIVE (UNUSED FOR MORE THAN A YEAR).

I asked a friend (Spore PR) to add value (Reload) in my TNG card (expiry Nov 2028) about 2 weeks ago in JB and he could do so. So I thought it was activated!

HOWEVER MY FRIEND SAY IT CANNOT USED TO PAY ANYTHING, EVEN FOR TOLLS and parking in MY! HE TRIED!

He asked around and was told to get a refund through e-wallet! Morale of the story: CAN RELOAD BUT CANNOT USE. TROUBLESOME to get refund.

This was the reply he got:

"Thank you for contacting Touch 'n Go.

We regret to learn that your card is not functioning. Please note that any Touch ‘n Go card that is not linked to Touch ‘n Go eWallet or has had no card transaction or reload for a period of twelve (12) consecutive months will become dormant (i.e. status inactive). To avoid any deduction of service fees, use the card at least once in twelve (12) months or link it to your Touch ‘n Go eWallet account.

Once a card is deactivated, service fee of RM5.30 (including GST effective 1st April 2015 until 31st May 2018) or RM5.00 (effective from 1st June 2018 onwards) will be imposed. The fee is deducted from the last card balance during termination of the card. In the event of a deactivated card continues to remain inactive, service fee of  RM5.30 or RM5.00 will be charged and deducted from the said deposit or unutilized card balance once every six (6) months. We will stop charging the fee when the card is replaced, returned for refund or until the deposit and card balance is depleted."

You have been warned. I will get back the TNG card from him when he returns in June and submit an e-refund through my e wallet.

Hi folks!

Latest update. I just submitted an e-refund, must wait at least 30 days and I know I will not get back the full amount. Refund amount (if any) to my e-wallet.

Submitting the e-refund is a BIG Hassle! Lucky I got patience.

So REMEMBER THIS- DO NOT RELOAD MONEY INTO INACTIVE/DORMANT TNG CARD! CAN PUT IN MONEY BUT CANNOT USE! When you tap at toll booth, it will say "KAD TIDAH SAH"  which means inactive card.

Cheers!

Just entered Malaysia and in Ipoh now...

1. All the invalid cards didn't work at the Road Charge card reader at Tuas Second Link, neither at the toll card readers just after the Malaysian customs.

2. The VEP RFID didn't work in the MyRFID lane at the toll after the Malaysian customs as well. The electronic signboard said no RFID detected.

3. My EZ-Link + TnG card with zero balance didn't work with the linked e-wallet at the toll after the customs.

4. In the end used the normal TnG card topped up by my uncle. Topped up again in a Watson's at Ipoh.

Hahaha same here. The stupid eWallet isn't working and from there I didn't bother tryng to pay with it.

Ended up topping up the card manually at the Galang Patah rest stop (entry from Tuas) and also at some News stand at Mid-Valley Southkey.

For #2, what happens if the MyRFID lane had worked? Do you need to link to any e-wallet for it to auto deduct road charge? Will it be simpler to just pay with TnG card? Thought VEP RFID was just to track vehicles entering MY

Just sharing my experience last Sunday...

Based on the advise of MCF Bros, if Touch&Go card can link to Touch&Go eWallet means the card is still valid and should be able to use at the customs.

So I Took a bus to JB and top up my old Touch&Go card which last used was a few days just before MCO lockdown in March 2020 so that I can use it to enter Malaysia again.

Went in JB with my old Touch&Go card and indeed, it can pay for all the charges at the custom and barrier opened after tapping on the reader.

After breakfast on my way back to Singapore, I stopped by petrol kiosk to reload my Touch&Go card as I will be going to KL next week.

The 5 petrol kiosk I went all cannot reload my card.

1) Shell - Machine spoil

2) Petronas - Card Invalid

3) Pertronas - Touch&Go offline

4) Shell - Card Invalid

5) Petron - Card Invalid

I just topped up on 21/05 and used it on 29/05. The eWallet app also never update any transaction made for that day till yesteday morning.

I dunno if Touch&Go system is dowm that particular day or really my card cannot be used anymore.

So confusing...

@Spidey10 I think invalid TNG card cannot reactivate again. Read my earlier posts.

I e mailed to them explaining the whole situation (because borders were closed for 2 years due to Covid blah, blah, blah) and they (at least they replied) said it will be inactive if no usage for 1 year and MUST LINK to E Wallet before that 1 year is up). So I must submit e-refund as stated in my earlier post.

My Malaysian friends also could not advise me as their Touch N Go cards are frequently used (make purchases, parking at shopping malls, tolls etc) so they never let it be inactive for more than 1 year.

I could not ask at any TNG office at the toll plazas as MYRFID lane is always on the extreme right so there are many vehicles on the left therefore  I don't bother to filter left to park and ask.

I find that it is not worth the effort to ask or even call their hotline.

The only consolation that I get is at least the MyRFID fitted on my car works fine (installed by their technicians in 2019) so I can drive fuss free to MY now.

This is my view only. Other motorists may experience different scenarios.

Cheers!

The process is online or you need to go to a TnG office?

@Voodooman The process is online. I found out all the info beforehand before submitting the e-refund online.

I submit the e-refund online after I came back to SG from MY. (Took back my TNG card from my Malaysian friend).

2 things here,

1) T&G card - expired then we cannot use - probably need to buy a new one, and what is left inside need to apply for a refund - this is used at the custom immigration to pay VEP right?

2) MyRFID - fitted on the windscreen and is link to my T&G e-wallet, but it has not been used since 2019 after the border closed. Will this work? - This is used to pay the toll charges. If this doesn't work, we can still use the NEW T&G card..

Correct me if I am wrong ahhh....so confusing..ahahhaha

@Spidey10 Answer to Q1: Ask someone to buy a new TNG one, top up RM and pass to you. Old one, apply for e-refund but let me warn you it's a big hassle. Yes! TNG is used to pay Road Charge and toll.

Answer to Q2: MyRFiD was fitted on my windscreen in 2019. I went in in Jan 2020 before border shuts, all OK. Recently, I went in on 23 May 2022, MYRFiD works, no problem. Just top up e wallet and make sure got money. If it dosen't work,  use new TNG card lah! BTW, I only used 2nd Link, never go Woodlands.

FYI, I went in and came back to SG in May 2022 without a new TNG card. Only used MyRFiD.

Hope all is clear now.

How to submit for the e-refund? I can't find it in the TnG app... is it must register each card with the TnG website?
