Kar_lover Supercharged July 6, 2025 Share July 6, 2025 I was quite disturbed by how Piastri tried to "morally blackmail" the team saying that if they believed he was innocent in the penalty incident they should ask Lando to let him pass. It shows how ruthless he is.... i was rooting for him over lando in the past, not so sure now...

Norris may be fast but being nice cannot win races. That's why we have popcorn when watching races bro

That's why we have popcorn when watching races bro For me there is a difference between being aggressive (or ruthless) on track vs what Oscar did - trying to make his team tell his teammate (who did nothing wrong) to give way to him (who did something wrong) for "moral" reasons (as opposed to strategic reasons where the car behind is faster than the car in front). It shows lack of ownership for what he did and it's a very poor team player behaviour like in Abu Dhabi 2016 when Lewis tried to sabotage Nico by holding him back (it was this that made me dislike Lewis). Maybe it's my personal values that the team must always comes first which is why this type of selfish behaviour doesn't sit well with me. I don't think Max ever did anything to sabo his own teammate or "blackmail" his team in this way. Speaking of Max's teammate, i can't believe there is actually a teammate i hate as much as Checo and Yuki was talking so big before he got the seat. Now he is as bad - possibly worse - then Checo. And yes, one thing i don't like about Lando is i feel he is too soft. And i was rooting for Oscar cos he was more aggressive. Even the team didn’t think he was in the wrong. McL Race Director and Webber sought clarification from 1 of the race stewards (off the record). As a spectator, it was a cheeky move against Verstappen. From Piastri POV, he was “right” to ask. Verstappen had 1 team mate that could challenge him. Every team manager will defend their driver from penalties. They won't just sit there and do nothing. But whjat irked me was that Piastri used the team's defence of him against his own teammate. If i am Zak, i will think twice before I defend Oscar next time. I didn't mention earlier, but since u mentioned "heat of the race" I was *genuinely* amazed (albeit disgusted at the same time) that Piastri could even think of such an angle to ask the team in the heat of the moment . It shows he was actually very clear minded to be able to think of that (excellent thinking on his feet - can be good trial lawyer). Anyway at the end of the day, good job the team didn't agree as it would have set a bad precedent for the future (maybe even for other teams). If i am Piastri, i will do anything to "protect" world championship. Piastri is the most clear-minded and emo-less driver now. From Mclaren POV, he is the fav (currently).

The quite limp-wristed answer from bosses to the 10s penalty during the race didn't help. Oscar is good but equally needs taken down a peg.

Talking about Redbull's second seat, remember the Lawson middle finger to Perez incident? Perez must be laughing his ass off after seeing how Lawson and Tsunoda is doing now. Bro, just enjoy watching the race with popcorn.
bsswan 6th Gear July 9, 2025 Share July 9, 2025 So, in trying to stop Max bugging out to Mercedes, they sacked Horner. Jos really is next level a-hole it seems. ↡ Advertisement
