Around 9.07am today, a plane crash occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do, South Korea. According to Jeonnam Yonhap, Jeju Air flight 7C 2216, which had flown in from Bangkok, Thailand, with 175 passengers and six flight attendants aboard, veered off the runway. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Jeju Air, carrying 175 passengers and crew, crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. The incident is believed to have been caused by landing gear malfunction following a bird strike.

Landed safely but taxied into a fence….

aiyoh.

respect to the pilots. They did an outstanding job and a landing they coulda walk away from if not for that fence.

And the punches keep on coming for our Korean brothers..

Flight tracking data has been immediately redacted from both flight aware and flight radar24.

I watched the video before the casualty numbers started stacking up and upon learning it was a bird strike was hoping for a Miracle on the Hudson but alas it was not to be - seemed the aircraft was too fast even by normal landing standards and touched down too late before running out of runway.

The fireball pretty much consigned most of the passengers to their fates.

RIP 🙏
