Turbocharged

From the first comment under Youtube:

This is a rebadged Changan Shenlan SL03. The battery, motors, software and most of the bodywork are exactly the same as the SL03. Mazda only changed the badging, the front fascia, and the tail lights.

question is. . . issit coming to Singapore? hahaha.

According to Straits Times article, the Mazda 6e should be coming to Singapore in 2nd half of 2026.  Changan has a factory in Thailand which will churn out RHD versions of it's vehicles for the local market as well as for export to places like Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. So the Mazda 6e is going to be for the global markets.

Have to say that the Hiroshima based auto manufacturer knows how to sculpt beautiful rides. Mazda still focuses on driving dynamics, which will give the 6e an edge over others and tailor made for buyers / drivers who prioritize driving experience.  The 6e comes with 19-inch wheels as standard, as well as a multi-link suspension setup at the rear and a MacPherson strut arrangement for the front wheels. Mazda boasts a perfect 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution, which–together with the suspension setup–should make for a pretty engaging drive.

Has an automatic rear spoiler that pops out once the speed goes over 90km/hr. Can be manually activated.

Dimensions are.

Length : 4,921mm

Width: 1,890mm

Height: 1,485mm

Wheelbase: 2,900mm

Bigger than the ICE version of the 6 that it's meant to replace.

The base variant will come with a 68.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery providing 479 km of range following the WLTP standard. Power from the battery is sent to a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 190 kW and 320 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 7.6 seconds. Top speed of 175 km/h. With 200 kW DC charging, a 10-80% state of charge can be reached in about 22 minutes, with 235 km of range added in only 15 minutes.

The Mazda 6e Long Range gets a larger 80kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery for 552 km of range. While the range is higher with this battery, the power output is less at 180 kW, although torque is the same at 320 Nm. The top speed is identical to the base variant, but the century sprint time is slightly longer at 7.8 seconds.

Surprisingly the weight of both the base and long range variant are about the same 1,951kg.

Also included is a 10.2" digital instrument cluster, a 14.6" central infotainment touchscreen, a rear touchscreen, a 14-speaker SonyPRO sound system and 64-color ambient lighting for the.  Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 automotive chip.

Drivers can also use hand gesture control, which is a first for the Mazda, while the Bluetooth key function allows a smartphone to be used to unlock and start the car, usable by up to three people. Mazda also touts six ‘Smart Modes’ that adjust several vehicle functions with one command, including Leaving Mode, Rest Mode, Relax Mode, Car Wash Mode, Private Call Mode and Fresh Air Mode.

The 6e will be competing against the likes of Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, Polestar 2 and BMW iX in terms of features and price. Will see what EuroKars tries to flog the 6e once it arrives in Singapore.

Changan / Mazda has recently signed an agreement with CATL to develop future vehicles using CATL’s CIIC (Cell to Chassis) platform. This structure enables a modular approach by separating upper and lower body sections, aiming fast development and flexibility for upcoming electric models. Mazda has two more models coming out by 2027.
