I want the ability to off the lights because say when you are parking car, facing the ramp, the LEDs very blinding for drivers coming up the ramp. Or if I am turning into driveway to pick up my mum sitting on the bench, the LEDs very glaring for her, etc. Basically, I tell the car what to do, not Cina Skynet decide for me. For energy consumption for the lights, the lights are still powered by the low-voltage battery, not the main tualingkong high-voltage pack. I cannot remember if the Aion uses a lithium or traditional lead-acid for the low voltage. If lead-acid, prepare to change it as often as your Mazda. If lithium, if lucky can last till COE ends.

I noticed the Japanese cars (e.g. the new E Outback) allows this. The Auto function can be switch off.

For the AC on/off while u clean car, maybe there is a 'auto on' setting for the car you can toggle? My BYD has this toggle in the interface where you can choose if the car automatic on or stay off when I unlock and open the door. But maybe thats because the BYD still keeps a physical start/stop button in the car for old buggers like me. I also dont like car switch on when I go back open door to take wallet or card or whatever.

The headlamp can be manually switched off totally.

Yes, the 'OFF" option might be there but when in D, does it over-ride?

My BYD, also has a physical switch with 'OFF', but it will over-ride you.

From what i had observed (from the reflections on front vehicles backside), when in D mode, turning off or "closing" the headlamp did Off the headlamp.

As for the DRL, i think it is set to always on when D mode is engaged. But i will observe more closely later and post.

Hi Aion owners, I am consider Aion V and Y Plus (and MG S5 EV) and would like to learn from you on your experience with Aion dealer vincar, on topics like regular car service , whether they are professional , have their own workshop or outsourced to external workshop etc. I always had the impression Vincar is a PI and therefore wonder if I can get good after sales support from them if only Vincar imports this brand to SG. Thanks.

If u happen to be at Leng Kee to see Aion, do drop by next door to see the Proton e.mas 7 as well.. it's essentially a rebadged Geely E5 and compares well with the Aions..

Actually the proton emas 7 design not bad looking. But some people might say, too bad it is a Proton brand. If this car changed to BYD badge, surely can become top selling model. Lol.

Not just the looks not bad, the interior, features and ride also not bad.. deserves a closer look and test drive.. though I think many just skip this just becos of the proton brand.

That's why i said this emas 7 wasted due to it is a Proton brand. The exterior and interior much better looking than some others EV model. Also too bad this is a FWD, if RWD then best.

The DRL will auto on when D mode is engaged, irregardless of whether it is set to on or off when car is started or in P.

1st Gear

Hello fellow Aion V owners. I have been driving mine for 2 months now and enjoying every minute until today.

The intelligent auto lock and unlock function of my car suddenly stopped functioning just now.

The micro switch of my handles also doesn't work for the lock function. Only can be used for unlock.

I can still use the physical key and Aion App to lock though.

Anyone experienced the same issue before?

Finally I got to test drive Aion V and MG S5.

The brakes of the Aion V was sensitive for me. The ride was comfortable and the car was sufficiently responsive when in Comfort mode. The MG S5 in contrast was more noisy and not as comfortable when driving over uneven surface. This was a surprised because I expect torsion beam on Aion V to perform worse but test drive proved otherwise.

Finally I got to test drive Aion V and MG S5.

I inclined to Aion V, for the price, drive, NVH & features are adequate for me , even in Premium trim.

Anyone can share experience with the price negotiable with Vincar, and what extras they would throw in ?

Also the Aion V has no tonneau cover. Anyone managed to get it from taobao/lazada etc or it is not possible to install a tonneau cover?

MGS5 was more noisy? What type of noise the car has?

Did u go see the e.mas7 next door?  My missus noted the rear centre seat of Aion V is not comfy compared to MG S5 and e.mas7.  Also the boot depth of Aion V is less than MG S5 and a.mas7, which is a consideration for me as I need to fit a foldable wheelchair used by my parent.
