Toyota really needs to stop with the stupid names. I thought they have already decided to stop it to improve their branding.

Kia has made it super easy. EV3 is small. EV6 is mid size. EV9 is full size.

There is a reason why Toyota is still growing even though the competitors like Nissan and Mitsubishi aren't..

This car, the Urban Cruiser as well as the Lexus BZ are new EVs to face the Chinese competition head on

With BYD tech in their batteries, there is a win win situation, especially since the Japs need to use batteries from China anyway so using a tried and tested leader in this area is a good idea.

Now the key is how much it costs, and I'm hoping it lands here by 2026.
Made in Japan, analogue buttons and a real boot with good styling but a lower hip point so my mum can sit nicely? Where do I sign...

With the Land Cruiser Mini sporting a larger 2.7l engine maybe some doubt on whether it's headed here, this one might be a closer fit..

And the EV charging network will also be more mature, with more points in M'sia so when I do my jaunts up, it's less worrisome.

Very nice, but maybe those terms are actually patented. But a very sound idea nevertheless...

Two things unacceptable to me.

1. Buttons on infotainment system. One flat screen please.

2. The ususal super ugly steering wheel that resembles that of the 90's.

The very same reasons why the car appeals to me, haha... those who want the sleek new UI will opt for the Chinese EVs I suspect..

Buttons for temp control and volume are so much practical and faster to operate. This is why Honda kept them too.

When Toyota releases the CHR+ in 2026, it'll be competing against the likes of BYD, Geely, Cherry, GAC, Xpeng, Zeekr, etc. who's current models have the tech and features that are known. Also the prices are known. BYD et. al. are not sitting on their laurels hoping that Toyota is going to play catch up, they're going to innovate and stay ahead and/or loose market share in the dog-eat-dog world of the automotive industry.

The CHR+ looks to be a nice BEV, but Toyota is a bit late to the electrification party. Maybe the badge will influence some buyers and get some sales. Hopefully the wheels wont start to fall off like what happened to the BZ4X here: https://www.motortrend.com/news/toyotas-fix-bz4x-disconnecting-wheels-recall/

i dunno...

it might be better if those buttons werent part of the screen. Pwerhaps below it as some cars have.

example, if anyone wanted to change the entertainment system itself,  easier.🤔

Nice lines... but seriously no glove compartment ... it's taken up by the radiant heater I suspect..

Memory seats are nice and duo wirless charging.. wow

The lack of the glove compartment will be missed but on the bright side, more space for the front passenger.

There are ample storage spaces likely in the middle and sides so the glove compartment may not be entirely necessary though it is good to have of course.

Worst name probably goes to BZ4X, feels like a name Elon Musk would have given to one of his children.

See how much first la

but this one promising and the range is important but why no glove compartment

Actually what do you keep in your glove box?

I just checked, inside my glove box, there are only invoices related to the car and nothing else. I probably open my glove box twice every 4-5 months, once when I need to keep the servicing invoice, and once when I change my ac filter. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
