Lala81 Hypersonic Thursday at 03:50 AM Share Thursday at 03:50 AM Toyota really needs to stop with the stupid names. I thought they have already decided to stop it to improve their branding. Kia has made it super easy. EV3 is small. EV6 is mid size. EV9 is full size.
therock Supersonic Thursday at 03:51 AM Author Share Thursday at 03:51 AM There is a reason why Toyota is still growing even though the competitors like Nissan and Mitsubishi aren't.. This car, the Urban Cruiser as well as the Lexus BZ are new EVs to face the Chinese competition head on With BYD tech in their batteries, there is a win win situation, especially since the Japs need to use batteries from China anyway so using a tried and tested leader in this area is a good idea. Now the key is how much it costs, and I'm hoping it lands here by 2026. Made in Japan, analogue buttons and a real boot with good styling but a lower hip point so my mum can sit nicely? Where do I sign... With the Land Cruiser Mini sporting a larger 2.7l engine maybe some doubt on whether it's headed here, this one might be a closer fit.. And the EV charging network will also be more mature, with more points in M'sia so when I do my jaunts up, it's less worrisome.

steveting99 2nd Gear Thursday at 05:53 AM Share Thursday at 05:53 AM (edited) When Toyota releases the CHR+ in 2026, it'll be competing against the likes of BYD, Geely, Cherry, GAC, Xpeng, Zeekr, etc. who's current models have the tech and features that are known. Also the prices are known. BYD et. al. are not sitting on their laurels hoping that Toyota is going to play catch up, they're going to innovate and stay ahead and/or loose market share in the dog-eat-dog world of the automotive industry. The CHR+ looks to be a nice BEV, but Toyota is a bit late to the electrification party. Maybe the badge will influence some buyers and get some sales. Hopefully the wheels wont start to fall off like what happened to the BZ4X here: https://www.motortrend.com/news/toyotas-fix-bz4x-disconnecting-wheels-recall/ Edited Thursday at 05:54 AM by steveting99 typo

There are ample storage spaces likely in the middle and sides so the glove compartment may not be entirely necessary though it is good to have of course. I just checked, inside my glove box, there are only invoices related to the car and nothing else. I probably open my glove box twice every 4-5 months, once when I need to keep the servicing invoice, and once when I change my ac filter.
