Zrun Neutral Newbie July 28, 2003 Share July 28, 2003 I've heard about a type of mod that is just a piece of non thermal sensitive gasket that you put between your engine block and intake manifold, thus decreasing the intake manifold temperature. Anyone heard? Seems like a cheap mod, a piece of plate only. But a non conductor thing that can withstand high temperature of the block might be expensive.. ↡ Advertisement

Silver_z 1st Gear July 29, 2003 Share July 29, 2003 Are you talking bout the spoon sports venturi plate? Venturi Plate : Racing engines are machined with extreme precision and feature filled-in intake ports. This is done to make use of the venturi effect a fundamental of fluid mechanics. Specifically, by smoothing a portion of the intake port and making it narrower, it is possible to increase the speed of the air-fuel mixture. By simply inserting this component between the cylinder head and the intake manifold, it is possible to obtain the optimum port shape for the above-mentioned venturi effect. When the speed of the air-fuel mixture is increased in this way, the efficiency of combustion inside the engine is improved and power increases accordingly. Zrun Neutral Newbie July 29, 2003 Author Share July 29, 2003 Yeah.. Somethig like that.. I only knew that it will decrease the temperature of your intake manifold altogether, but not sure about the air flow property thing.. Looks like cheap mod, but it cost $200USD for this piece of metal..
Silver_z 1st Gear July 29, 2003 Share July 29, 2003 Hmm... I only know that this item i posted cost 280,000 yen. Its for B16A and B16B engines only.
Saaber Neutral Newbie July 29, 2003 Share July 29, 2003 US$200 for the gasket is not cheap.....and with the labour cost in, it is definitely not a cheap mod...
