I find original/genuine parts in JB can b more ex then SG even. Eg: My Optra oil filter in SG abt S$6 but in MY is RM35. I think its due to imported parts in Msia r taxed.

 

U can try Aik Hoe at Race Course Rd. Ty r a // importer so dun get their parts from the local agent but buy direct from Korea at much lower prices. My Korean Optra I wil get my parts from them now. I avoid the authorised stockists cos the prices r

I go accord auto workshop at AMK auto pt. Typiclly such workshops get parts from Ad in sg or gt partz from ad or importers u mentioned?

I not sure abt the one u mentioned but I know Chevy parts from AD in SG is damm expensive. I used to get from Song He n He Xing etc b4 but their prices kept getting more n more ex till cannot tahan.

 

Thats why I sourced the supplier who // imports n not get from AD here.

I recently changed my Optra AC compressor wh an OEM Korea made one at markcool for abt $500 incl labour, gas etc.

 

Dun buy the Msia made AC compressors. Ty hv many problems n dun last.

 

Thats about the market rate.

 

I tried scrap yards for a 2nd hand compresssor but dun have. Most r for Jap cars. Those maybe $100plus to $200 only.

Yes I am in Spore.

 

U want 2nd hand, u can check with the many scrapyards here. New u can get from auto accessories shops.

 

These spot lights u can get in many countries cos Spore dun make them. We import them.

 

For cheap models, u can try Taiwan, Msia or China even.

I buy Hyundai/Kia oil filters from Song Yi by the 10s.

They sell to me about $4.50 each.

 

If you buy 1 pc, it's like $5.

 

I ever ask Aik Hoe, I think the price is quite similar, maybe around $5 or $6.

 

I think for small items, if you don't buy a lot, there's not much difference, unless you want to compare each and every item.

Running around the shops also incurs time and money.

For conti....I go to JB and find...much cheaper. In Taman Austin got a few....Those at Sungei Kadut is damn blardy expensive.

 

One of the guys I go to is JB Quality Parts.

Agree, Propel Auto is one of those you mentioned -very expensive.
