Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie August 11, 2004 Share August 11, 2004 Dear all, I am driving a Matrix 2004 (got it in April) and regarding the FC of the car, I have attached the latest mileage of my last full tank. Amazingly, it reads 544.4km as my normal FC is around 400km - 450km at best. What I have did is to be as light footed as possible, though I have revved up to 6000 rpm on 8 occasions (yes, i counted). Guess being light-footed really helps a lot in FC!! ↡ Advertisement

Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 When i pumped petrol last night, I only managed to pump in 46L of petrol, probably still have a good 9L of petrol left? For mods, I've done CAI + open pod, grounding, Voltage Stablizer.. but i guess the most important thing that attributed to the FC is being light footed. Followed everything the guy who held the world record for economy driving..
Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 I think 55L?
Hogster Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 Normally keeping the revs below 3k helps a lot. Been doing that, my best so far is 9.23km/l. Very happy liao.
Biccat Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 Never realise so many CH bros also do posting here. Yep, the best fuel saving device for any car is the right foot even after installing all the after market gadgets. I normally gt about 11+km/litre for my 1.6M Matrix(this is about the same FC I am getting for my previous rides of Jap make) but if I keep the rpm below 3K, I can easily clock over 12km/litre for a combination of urban and highway driving. But boh pian, cannot tahan driving below 3K all the time.

Cashiertan Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 my colleage who drove his matrix to KL...couldnt get more than 11km/l... urs is really super. Thats a reason why i dun get Hyundai cars as the FC varies too much from one owner to the another. for Jap cars, I dun hear ppl has that much FC difference thus I trust the FC for these Jap cars are true. example: my friend Corolla G9 even with his heavy foot, the worst FC is claims is only 10+km/l. You get what i mean?

Myths Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 (edited) My matrix is one month old and the latest consumption per litre is around 10km. However, I have driven to KL and on the way back from KL to Singapore, I didn't stop other than the toll to pay money and at cruising speed, I managed to attain 16.7km per litre. I have only done my first servicing and do hope that the mileague will be better after 2nd and 3rd servicing. I have not done any modification so far and I seldom exceed the 3000rpm.
