What car are you driving?I'm driving a VIOS, and i have been to various workshops many workshops, and i think that Autosaver is still giving you the best, most comprehensive servicing on a checklist. They do air-con flushing on the evaporator, whicn in my opinion not many workshops will do in the first place unless asked to be done for quite a fee.

go google them out and check their packages.you won't regret it.they do nissans, toyotas and now hondas..

I'm driving Honda fit. How much did u pay for ur normal servicing? I tot of Riverview auto coz it's nearer to me and was one of those recommended in the forum.

My current warranty is 3 years, with 2nd & 3rd year covering only engine and autogear box.. 3 yrs will be up in Mar 09. Any idea if my warranty will break if I can shift to another workshop for servicing now? Kind of worried I will be paying about $500 for my next major servicing if i continue at the current workshop... about to pay $107 excess for my suddenly cracked rear windscreen... and soon have to change tyres.. sweatdrop.gif

avoid merlin at amk.

charged me full rate when they can't even fix up a simple foglite properly [furious]

Dear all,

I would like to advice on going to specialised servicing workshops to do your edix.

Dont risk it with those that major in repairs and modifications.

Did a supposedly full service at Merlin motor (AMK) last week and thought it was ok until i went to another workshop (Huat Lee @ kaki) to install a drop-in filter then realise from the boss there that the guys at merlin didn't advice properly on my brake pads (1/2 cm left), brake fluid (did not do top up) and missed out a loose connection on my throttle cable.

The guys over at merlin kinda slipshot in their checks. Out of all the workers there, only 1 guy was friendly. Boss son (Jacky) is outwardly friendly but not very helpful. HAiz..... regret going there. Read that many Edix owners go there so thought they got more experience in the make but........

However, if after reading this you still want to use them, look for Henry instead of Jacky. He's got better service. Well if you are a regular there and find my experience out of the ordinary from yours, then maybe it was just a busy day (went on mon) for them that caused the slip in service.

Bro, I think u are over charged heavily.

Firstly, $120 for Diesel Grade Engine Oil is too expansive.

Then came adjusting Handbrake for $80

Not to mention $38 for Airfilter>>> [knife]

Opps, with this kind of charges, I would rather go

and look elsewhere.

er, i think its too ridiculous to adjust ur handbrake at $90. usually when i service my car, i ask them to adjust handbrake lever, its free wor... hmmmm

You can ask for second opinion from those workshops specialize in car aircons like Mark Cool. After that, you have a better idea of where to go and whether it is worth the price.

Hi bros,

need some advice and recommendation from gurus here. Servicing is up millage excess by 100+ km already. My ride is 45k km and i just need to change engine oil, the 3 filter (air con oil and air ) And maybe spark plug.

I use to change it myself back then when i was still w the army as i have proper tools and equipment at the workshop, but have since left. Would just want to find a workshop which charge labor cheap cheap. Will buy and bring my own oil and filters for them to do it. The only workshop i have been to is RV (major servicing and rectifying of some problem ) and workshop in JB.

I don't go for 100pointer check or what checks, i find most of those mechanic quite b-------t, alot of them do a half past 6 job

I'm more a d.i.y person and check everything myself even changing parts myself if i am able to with proper equipment.

Any place where i can get cheaper parts. ? I'm quite okay with any part of Sg as long as i can get parts at a cheaper price. Looking at 4L 10w 50 engine oil at cheaper than 60bucks. As i'm planning to use it for 7k at most. Any bros can recommend me?

thanks lot

For your requirements may I suggest you try to rent a working space and tools from a friendly workshop. Hopefully this will solve yr labour charge problem and at the sametime you can hone your skill in service/ repair works. I understand this practice is well accepted by some DIY weekend mechanics in Scandivania countries. Frankly these people who rent a space to work are hard core DIYers all out not to save money but to enjoy thier love to servicing, repairing and modifying thier rides. It's a Hobby
