I know read someone has TC'ed their cars.

I'm wondering if you can share your project, and specs?

Here's my TC plan layout. Total budget is $1500 USD or $3k SGD. Any comments?

Turbo

T3 super 60 trim

Internal wastegate (10psi)

oil cool only (water is too troublesome)

Fuel Delivery

Returnless -> return fuel system conversion

AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator

Vortex FMU

400cc Injectors

Management tuning

Vortex FMU (boost tuning)

E-Manage (fine tune only)

w/ boost harness (electronic AF fine tuning)

w/ Ignition harness (retard timing at boost >8 psi)

Split Sec ESC1 - force open loop operation when boost > 1psi.

Manifold + pipes

Ceramic coated, steel log style manifold, T3 flange mounted on top.

- EGT bung

2.5 inch steel downpipe

- O2 sensor bung

- additional wideband O2 sensor bung (for tuning only)

2.5 inch steel, painted charge pipes

Intercooler, recirculating BOV, oil tap lines

Gauges: AF gauge, EGT, fuel pressure gauge.

Not planning to do compression, as I'm not running too high boost.

Full exhaust system, I'm planning to get a friend who knows how to weld to help me make one, but that'll be the last stage.

Hi there, are you in modding the car in SG? SG$3K can do Turbo, Fuel Delivery system and Management tuning? Thats a real bargain... How about the cops? are you doing it legally with the letter from the manfacturer stating that the car is safe to be TC.

BTW wat car are we talking about here? Thanks

I'm doing it in USA. So technically, it'll be even cheaper to do it in Singapore if you get the right deals.

The only expensive parts are turbo, BOV, e-manage, intercooler, the rest are just metal pipes, which costs almost nothing.

Regarding cops, as long the engine pass emission test, it is quite safe to mod it. Furthermore, it only takes 1-2 days to put it back to stock if required.

I'm doing it to my Toyota Matrix, 1.8lit, 1zz-fe engine. It is simple 4 cylinder engine. Should not be too difficult to do it.

$1500 does not include professional tuning and dyno. That is "skilled" labor part, which is very expensive in USA. The "tuners" charge $100USD per hour or more. I'll try to get some time on DYNO and DIY tuning using wideband O2 sensor.

Looks like u have most if not everything thought out. [thumbsup]

Some extra stuff missing i can think of are:

1. Colder spark plugs

2. Vaccum line from intake manifold to FPR

2. Boost gauge (how can u miss that!!)

3. Turbo timer

4. De-cat or cat relocation

And u r building your own kit right? It will be much easier if u can find an aftermarket kit but well, that's part of the fun too i guess. [:)] Really 3 grand for all, new parts? That's damn good price.

Yeah. Must have boost gauge.

So far, I've spend 1g sgd buying the whole fuel system setup, some used, some new. The rest are for tubings, manifolds, gauges etc.

It is quite easy to fall within 3 grand. However, now I discover the cost of getting a person to weld pipes together. It might go more than that.. So, I'm considering buying a small MIG welder for $100 and try to do it myself.

u might need to change the compression ratio.. and the gaskets as well...

if you have extra money, might as well change to forged cylinders... this will probably enhance the life of ur engine.
