Normal_aspirated Clutched November 21, 2004 Share November 21, 2004 Dun waste yer $$$$$$, lah. little improvement only........ Most important is front disk.......... K&N filter, ask the SA, if not some will void warranty becus may cause airflow sensor problem.
Hotspurs Neutral Newbie November 21, 2004 Author Share November 21, 2004 Will improper run-in affect future FC?
Normal_aspirated Clutched November 21, 2004 Share November 21, 2004 Maybe, depends yer luck. After run-in use good engine oil like Mobil 1 or esther based ones.... If yours is auto tranny, better to add MotoUp transmission additive to improve it. Heard from many ppl that korean auto tranny is energy sapping...... Hotspurs Neutral Newbie November 21, 2004 Author Share November 21, 2004 So where and when u all normally meet up?
Genie47 1st Gear November 21, 2004 Share November 21, 2004 Woohoo! 1.6L Manual! Sure will give the other cars a good run! I suggest the following. Run in your car first with heavier oil. If you are not the chiong type, a 40wt oil is OK. If you like to go up north for run-in at the same time collecting fines, 50wt. After that, since the car is new, a nice 30wt oil is fine. 10W30 or 5W30 API SL, ILSAC GF3 at least. If you like synthetics, as NA has suggested, get the ester based oils like Chemlube or Redline. Both will cost you. Use the search function and you will find much on oil. Finally your gearbox. You if yours have a drain port, you can drain off all the tranny oil and replace it with a synthetic 75W90. There are two very good synthetic tranny oil out there: Royal Purple's Max Gear 75W90 and Redline MT90.

Genie47 1st Gear November 21, 2004 Share November 21, 2004 I've done that for my previous ride which is an EP70 Starlet. It was fitted with the Starlet GT disc rotors. Amazing braking power. A tiny tap and you risk locking all the wheels. Did it for $600 and that is with scrapped parts from Japan. Your's is a new car, it's gonna cost like an arm or a leg.
