If your car is sitting still in neutral, and you rev the motor up to say 4k rpm. Will the turbo spool up? And so if you let go of your throttle then, will the BOV go off? Thanks! Maded Neutral Newbie April 4, 2005 Share April 4, 2005 yes u can install a BOV in an NA car, no it will not work to give u a psssh, and no it will not increase the power of your car. BOVs are used in turbocharged cars to expel compressed air when the engine doesn't need it. This protects the turbocharger from prematurely wearing out.
