Wonder if you have had this problem before, the driver-side power window on its way up got jammed and stop, I had asked CA and they said that it could be due to wear and tear of the "regulator". This is what they quote

$70 - labour to check for the problem only

$84+195 - labour + parts

$84 - labour + parts (if confirm under warranty)

Do you think that this is a reasonable quote? Is the regulator part consider a warranty item?

Yes, if it's under warranty... Labour is a little expensive... If not under warranty, you can drop by at Servotronic...

If under warranty just bring it back to CA. If not drop by servo. The regulator part only cost 170 in Servo. Yes the labour is freaking ex. [sly][sly]

Tell them bullshi* for wear and tear, it's definately a manuafacturing fault. Ask how many Skoda cars got them replaced. Mine i had to replace all 4 window regulator within 3 yrs. None of them were under warranty, nuff said of CA. [rifle]

Besides being expensive, their "take it or leave it" attitude lave much to be desired, if not for the fact that my car is 1 year old and still within the warranty bracket - and hence warranty void if repair are done outside CA, I would not even consider bringing back for any type of servicing in the future!

main thing check whether still under warranty, if not, best go other place to repair the power window.

a recon set with installation for 2 power windows only abt 240 bucks

Hi - are you saying that outside workshop (e.g. servotronic) will charge less, ie $84 (labour) + 195 (parts)? If so, how much less?

Do u mean your car originally did not come with power windows and he installed power windows for your front doors? How long have you use them, is it reliable? Where did he install the switches for you?

I've changed the regulator(motor) b4 for about $150each incl labour. Parts were 2nd hand from scrapyard & it's about 5 years & 2 years (2 sets changed) already & still working fine.
